Damn, I might have to get to a Long Island Nets game to see him up close.

Musa is such a naturally gifted scorer. I hope his 3 ball improves very soon, can’t wait to see him play more minutes with the team.

He needs to be playing against NBA pros. Levert is out til March or possibly next season. Musa needs to get integrated into the main club's offense.

disagree, id rather he get more playing time to develop the things we need him to do and get acclimated to the country/city/nba life. id probably send kurucs down as well for the same as lone as RHJ/Dudley are healthy.

No one is trading for them.

Where are you getting the LeVert out until march or next season thing? While the Nets don't release timelines, comparable injuries & twitter (actual) doctors project it in the 8-10 week time frame. He should be back before the all-star break or at worst immediately after.

I think Kenny pretty much nailed the Mike Dunleavy Jr. comparison for Musa.

I don't think he's quite ready yet. He hasn't been efficient scoring and in turning the ball over yet and he still needs to get stronger.MrDollarBills wrote:He needs to be playing against NBA pros. He's definitely an intriguing prospect. Marks might have lucked into a two-fer with Musa and Rodi if they both develop

The Nets may not rush him back. Remember, they are very cautious with injuries.

Yes, they're very cautious, but cautious means an extra week or two. An extra month or two is excessive.

That's a pretty decent comparison. Although, I think Dunleavy was a slightly better athlete and a better ball handler than Musa in his Duke years. People forget, Dunleavy looked amazing in college. And I think the Nets fans would be stoked if Musa ever managed to reach Dunleavy's peak in the NBA - 19 ppg on 48/42/83 splits with a few assists.

I think the difference might be that Musa has an edge to him. MDjr is so smart as a BB player that he almost always does the right "basketball play", even if it means being passive at times. I get a feeling that if Musa's experience and body catches up to his skill level and mentality, that he's not going to be passive...at all.

Re: ***The Official Musa Thread***
Musa is developing nicely in the gleague btw. Watched the highlights from his last two games and you're starting to see the play making from him. Kenny would love for him to develop and be a 6'9 ballhandler in this offense.
The last game he played he had a really nice pass.
He drove baseline left from the three point line. As he got closer to the basket and attracted the rim defender he swiftly whipped a pass off the dribble to a cutting guy to the rim.
A 6'9 right handed player just dropped an absolute beautiful dime off his left dribble.
That's purty.

Got to love the playing time he's receiving in the GLeague… hope he continues to build and improve!
