There is no need to worry about signings now. Pelle might just be waived in favor of someone later on in buyout or in trade. I liked what I've seen from Pelle, but the true impact players won't be available until around the trade deadline, either in trade or buyout.

Imagine...

Drummond gets bought out after the Cavs don't find takers in trade and he's unhappy on a non contending team who is grooming their Fro.

Houston doesn't find anyone willing to meet their asking price for Tucker and he is bought out.

Chicago surrenders the white flag as well and gives Temple a chance to sign with a PO team. We could use his veteran presence, D and he's playing well this year.

Dinwiddie gets healthy in time for the playoffs.

Irving l Dinwiddie l T.Johnson
Harden l B.Brown l Shamet
Harris l Temple l TLC
Durant l Tucker l J.Green l Claxton
Drummond l Jordan l J.Green l Perry²

Drop Chiozza (as yet another PG isn't needed) for the most promising G.Leaguer you can sign for a 2 way.

But if not there are a lot of names out there to hopefully look out in the buyout market. Some could traded for as well.

Centers
McGee
Whiteside
Baynes
RoLo
C.Zeller
Dieng
LMA
E.Davis
Noel
Muscala

Others
O.Porter
Bjelica
R.Gay
Ariza
S.Hill
Snell
G.Temple
Nwaba

Would you guys consider this? Not saying we should do it, but I think a trade like this is worth considering. Instantly makes us significantly better defensively imo.

No.

I like tucker but we need size from our bigs. he is a smallball 4/5. We have some small ball types now.

I think you can get RHJ/McGee without giving up spencer or picks and get more defense out of it. with our big 3, i think you can have 2 non-shooters as long as 1 of them can finish lobs which mcgree can.

What dont you like about mcgee?

His championship pedigree?
His outstanding shotblocking?
his outstanding reboudning?
his ability to fit with stars?
his ability to finish?
his ability to defend without fouling?
his ability to switch on to smalls and hold his own?

there is a reason star laden championship teams have consistently looked to add him

the idea mcgee is a downgrade to perry is absurd

McGee is far superior to Perry, but let's not overrate him into something he isn't. If we can get him with the DPE, its cool but I'm not a fan of giving up 2nd round picks for him.

I dont think it is overrating anything. He has unique size/athelticism combo, and tons of experience playing with stars. His shot blocking, finishing, and rebounding are all above average.

1+ blocka and 6 rebounds in 15 minutes is impressive. and thats inline with his career. He can finsih lobs as well as most role bigs.

7 feet with a 7'6" wingspan and 34 inch verticle. co ordinated and skilled for a player his size. and no ego issues with him. shows up, works hard and does his job.

He isnt allen, but he provides the same things plus experience

McGee is a slum...

Championship pedigree? He's a lackey... so is Mark Madsen a championship pedigree player worthy of fame?

He's cheap and played spot minutes for depth but don't make him some integral piece in the Warriors or Lakers chips.... take that bs elsewhere.

Anyone who not a star can fit with stars... he rebounds great but so do others at his size. He's not some unique guy. He has low bbq iq, he played behind the Warriors n LBJ when he didn't require to think. Here is different situation.

Downgrading was for losing Allen.

He has experience n knows his role. He ain't anything super or magnificent. Why isn't he playing with Cleveland?

Stop overeating some of these guys. Not all our moves are perfect or great ideas. We hit some and we definitely f up on some

Madsen was actually a quality role guy for some of those rings. McGee is more then a lackey. he is a solid rebounder and rim protector.

he was for the warriors. not the lakers so much. but he still has experience in big games and in locker rooms with stars and egos. thats important. he will know whats expected

no one is overreacting. he would make a big impact here. give us shot blocking and length we dont have and another lob threat. he brings like 75% of what allen brought.

also, the idea that he is a low iq player is absurd. he is actually a really high bbiq. the shaqtin' a fool moments form earlier are not indicative of his bbiq. he is always in the right spots. always makes the right plays.

he would be a much better addition then dedmon/bell/noel/henson/len/whiteside or other FA/buyout options that were on the market.

in the 18-20 minutes we give mcgee he would probably give us 7/7/1 with solid defense and a lob threat and an offensive rebounding threat we lost when allen was dealt.

It makes me scratch my head the same board that wanted perry to play (pre allen trade) and thinks claxton is the awnser is down on mcgee

This is a disaster. Bam is about to eat us alive on the boards.

im not worried about Bam. super overrated.

And there are plenty of bigs out there. Len wasnt a great fit. I like McGee or Dedmon alot better. RHJ as well

Yeah, that Bam guy isn't a threat at all yo us. Even his career high against us was super overrated because we don't have chemistry yet. Jordan, KD, JG all weren't trying either.

I highly disagree about BAM, dude is one of the better big men in the NBA today and he is super talented on both sides of the floor. Dude dropped 42 points on us effortlessly.

Javale would be very solid honestly, especially with Claxton and DJ still there. Would love another Jeff Green type and a Larry Nance-esque player.

We are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league and we have zero interior defense right now. I will gladly take McGee and any other big man with a pulse right now, yall are crazy

And he is a Grammy nominated producer too

He hasn't played in a year, it's really hard to think he will give us much at this point.

Steve Kerr is on record saying that the Shaqtin the Fool stuff almost ruined this man's career because what he does on the court is far from different from the public perception of him.

We need serviceable depth up front. That's what McGee brings. I'm not sure how anyone can hold their noses at this point, we have zero trade assets and the free agent market isn't going to yield much. McGee is a 100% upgrade over Perry.

I'm for bringing in McGee, but this clip is exactly what we don't want. Rebound and get the ball to Kyrie, Harden or KD. We need bigs that will play within their role, and not be out of control. It's one of the reasons I am not a fan of bringing back RHJ. He can make boneheaded plays a little too often.
