I can't believe we actually pawned Wright off on Dallas as well. These guys took our garbage and gave us back gold!!

Let Cuban sign the wifebeater to a ridiculous extension...meanwhile, we'll be young, exciting, and making moves. Hopefully Lebron's misery in Cleveland continues.

Wasn't that the same thing we all said when we lost Kenyon? Rod turned that return into VC. I know that hasn't worked out the way we wanted it to but the point still stands.

If we had all of the pieces we have right now a few weeks ago we could have had enough expiring contracts and picks to trump the Lakers package for Gasol (Diop, Van Horn, Magloire, Marcus Williams, 1st round pickwould have done it). Its all hypothetical but a team of Kristic - Gasol - RJ - VC- Harris would have been good enough to win a round in the East and well on its way to being rebuilt.

With the amount of tradeable parts Rod Thorn has to work with it is only a matter of time before this team has a franchise player again.

Hassel's contract is less then Stackhouse's and it is likely that we will buy him out just the same. His contract is relatively insignificant.

so the Nets start the 2nd half on Wednesday February 20 vs Chicago Bulls in New Jersey...

...there better be confirmation of this deal tomorrow !!

It will be total BS if the Nets have to play another game short handed.

Dirk gets to stay in New Orleans since the Mavericks play their Wednesday.
If the deal is not cemented yet & Dallas plays their full roster again and we don't that will make me barf.

In any case I'm guessing Marcus Williams will start for the Nets no matter what. I hope this time he decides to share the damn ball & stop imitating Damon Stoudamire.

I still think you guys are getting the better side of this deal. I think Harris will mesh better with VC and his speed with be a difference maker.

Do you guys plan to resign Diop in the off season? If not, might I suggest you try to trade him to Houston to back up Yao for a different expiring and a 2008 1st rounder. The 3 1st rounders might allow you to move up and get a big stud.

I doubt Diop is back next season, and do you really think we could get Houston's 1st rounder for him????????

I doubt it.

They would probrably give us Luther Head, or swap picks with the Dallas pick if Houston was better and maybe send us a 2nd rounder.

This isn't the NFL....where those 1st, 2nd & 3rd rounders are valuable.

In the NBA, all those low level 1st's just mean a guaranteed contract....

I hope the 2010 pick from Dallas has no lottery protection because for some reason I just dont see Dallas doing so well a few years from now with a more aged Jason Kidd(if he even is still there). That pick might be very underrated right now.

I guess were not getting that 2nd round pick from Dallas anymore. Seriously, I don't care how much everyone here hates Wright, this deal is looking less and less appealing everyday. Ok we give up the best player in the deal, Kidd, arguably on of the best PGs to ever play the game. We also give up an ok player in Allen who i don't care about, and a solid player with upside in Wright for more or less Harris, 2 1st rounders (which are probably going to be late) and cap space. Call me crazy but i don't like it. I would like it more if Wright weren't in it. Couldn't we of sent Mags because they need help up front anyway.

:banghead: Whatever :banghead:

Wright was one of the favs....

sorry all you wright supporters but he kinda sucks... haha but netsdaily has it as us getting a 2nd form them but some places i read we only get a 1.6 million trade exception. if thorn really thinks he made a bad move in trading him, then we can just sign him after the season haha so it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah, Wright for a TE worth around 1.6 million. Still a nice deal.

Seems like KVH has accepted to play for 30 days for us.

he's supposedly ready to play now, knowing Frank, he probably won't play for another week because he has to learn the "playbook"
