BRK: Lopez/Humphries/Brooks for Howard/Kirilenko/Duhon
We get our main target, who knows where he'll re-sign...
Williams, Johnson, Wallace, Kirilenko, Howard
Watson, Stackhouse, Bogans, Evans, Blatche

LAL: Howard/Gasol/Duhon for Love/Lopez/Barea
The Lakers nab a young frontcourt who fit in D'Antoni's offense and under Kobe's thumb.
Nash, Bryant, Williams, Love, Lopez
Duhon, Meeks, Peace, Jamison, Hill

MIN: Love/Kirilenko/Williams for Gasol/Humphries/Brooks
The Wolves jettison a malcontent; viva Espana!
Rubio, Brooks, Howard, Gasol, Pekovic
Barea, Ridnour, Shved, Humphries, Stiemsma
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

So Minny is giving up Love and Williams and they get back only Gasol and change?

IDK about all that...

Edit: And AK?

I don't consider that an "I told you so". Most fan bases wanted to guy low on him. It's sort of like claiming Blair, monta ellis, deandre Jordan, or Faried as draft steals you liked. They were always pretty well known

As a fanbase, I don't think he was a secret.

A lot of people saw a top 5 Pick available for peanuts and wanted to jump on it .

I don't know if anyone saw him outperforming joe Johnson at 5% of the price .

We're going to need to find our own versio and the price has to be low. Right now no ones scared as dwill, jj, and Wallace pass it around the perimeter

It seems that we’re all in agreement that our most needed position of improvement is the PF position. Our most “valuable” trade chips would probably be Humphries, Brooks, and draft picks… but we all know BK is capable of pulling off trades that no one expects. Top 1-5 trade target list anyone?

1. Kevin Love (most unrealistic, but I think he would fit in with Deron perfectly)
2. Josh Smith
3. Nene
4. Derrick Williams (probably most realistic out of all IMO)
5. Pau Gasol

While I do think Minny's giving up a lot, Williams no longer has the value of a 2nd overall pick. As we always say, the value of a top pick is (usually) highest before the draft.

Once that pick starts to play and the high expectations aren't met, their value decreases.

As much as we debate about MarShon not getting PT, this dude was the 2nd overall pick in the draft (and some argued should have been #1) and yet he's riding the bench hard.

His value has taken a major nosedive.

I'd probably have Lopez go to Minny, Hump and Pek go to LA.

So it'd be....

BKN gets Howard/AK/Duhon

LAL gets Love/Williams/Pek/Hump/Barea

MIN gets Gasol/Lopez/Brooks

I think this is actually a pretty fair deal, but I don't think upper management would go for it.

D'Antoni would probably prefer Love over current Howard right now though, just because of his offensive versatility.

I don't think Williams is worth anywhere close to what he once was in relation to his draft position, but come on, he has him as some type of salary filler throw in when they're already getting value violated.

Sure ripoff trades happen, especially when players force a teams hand, but isn't trading Love and AK for an old guy who's been playing like crap with knee soreness and adding a super solid wily vet defensive tweener like AK to the outgoing enough lol?

If anything Roy needs to be outgoing as a bonus to Minny if something crappy like this happened to them, not Williams.

If they're dealing Love, Williams gets a chance to be set free or else Love better be bringing back something more legit.

And then the whole premise of this 3 way is way unrealistic. Why wouldn't LAL just cut us out, send Gasol for Love and call it a day? Cause I'm just sure Minny is dying to swap AK and Williams for Hump and MorShoot!

Where's your proposed deal for K-Love? I know you got a bunch of them in mind.

It seems like there's a mini-revolt going on in MIN and you can be rest assured this will not end well.

Oh there's no question in my mind Love will be in one of say 5 destinations soon enough, but my guess would be draft night/offseason or next deadline unless they're blown away by something.

I think Love has a lot of say in where he goes, obviously. I also think he's just the type of dick to force his way to a very specific set of destinations, so I don't see an all out bidding war where he winds up somewhere like Charlotte or Washington for example. But I also know Minny isn't going to be under any rush to deal him this minute if they don't really like the return.

But yeah, again, Love doesn't seem like Howard to me. Love is a dick. He will demand something behind closed doors, as I've said in the past, likely already has. He will stick to it. He has probably given them some parameters and a time limit before he goes nuclear public with the demand though, he seems professional enough to give them fair chance in this elitist world of pro sports.

I have some ideas lol. I already have a few in this thread and the Official Offseason thread I'll dig up.

I'll post at least one by mid-afternoon.

And call me crazy, but I still prefer LMA a tad and think he'd be the much easier/more realistic target asset wise, although again, we all know, we all talk about the truth... it's not much about what assets you have but what a player and agent demand behind the scenes in relation to a player's remaining contract and the level of malignancy they can have internally on their current team if they don't get their way.

LMA doesn't seem to me as much to demand only a destination or three. I do think he's a lot more headstrong and disgruntled then his humble image(and reality) seem to perceive, so I can see him asking out, even demanding out and I do not see him as wishy washy. But... I can see him being more reasonable and saying, OK, you can trade me to a wide array of teams, just not these specific 9 and you can't leave the roster ruined forever. That opens up a true bidding war, something Love's ego and selfishness would never allow.

I still say Howard to Brooklyn by the trade deadline.

The Knicks will destroy LA tonight and now more and more news is filtering out about "Dallas is a real destination that Howard could sign with as a free agent".

Plus all this Howard bravado about knowing who he is going to sign for but won't say.

Brooklyn will be involved in a big star trade between now and the draft. You just know king is ready to make a huge splash for a Kevin Love type or Dwight Howard level player. you know King will hand them an insane package of every pick for 20 years plus any productive player at all or young player with a tiny bit of talent.

I fully expect a big trade.

Sat and thought about different trades.

What about a 3 team deal for Love.

Brooklyn Trade: Lopez, Brooks & 1st
Brooklyn Acquires: Love

Brooklyn starting 5:

Williams
Johnson
Wallace
Love
Blatche

Atlanta Trade: Horford or Smith & 1st
Atlanta Acquires: Lopez

Teague
Williams
Korver
Horford or Smith
Lopez

Wolves Trade: Love
Wolves Acquire: Horford or Smith, Brooks & 2 1st's

Rubio
Shved or Brooks
AK47
Horford or Smith
Pekovic

Thoughts on the trade were Wolves could trade Smith for Lopez and take away the whole will he won't he while letting Horford shift over to his PF position. Problem is I can't see Smith signing for the Timberwolves and because he controls his destiny I tweaked it to be Horford that's sent out.

From the Timberwolves perspective they have little to nobody at SG so they bring in a young SG and replace an All star PF with an undervalued player in Horford who would finally get to play his natural 4 spot.

Brooklyn get a star so they do the deal. Not sure on who would add the picks etc. If I were to trade Lopez for Horford I'd want a few picks off Atlanta so I'd probably just send the Houston pick they own & Atlanta's pick this year to the Wolves. So it would be Lopez and Brooks for Love.

Let the flaming begin!!
