We'll keep him if Bucks give their 2015 first rounder for sweeping all of this under the rug.

We've been so happy with these new owners the last two months. They'd be the laughingstocks of the NBA if they hired Kidd to run operations, much less giving up a pick or compensation.

I'm just hoping that this was Marc Lasry making chit-chat with Kidd, Kidd misinterpreting it as if he's got a backup POBO/coaching job waiting for him in Milwaukee and then overplaying his hand with both franchises (Nets and Bucks)

Yea I figured the same. If they weren't a lotto team, we could have a chance with a 1st round pick, but unfortunately, they are a lotto team for the foreseeable future.

if im the nets i push hard for a first.... especially if there is any possible collusion with the bucks owner offering kidd the position prior to all this.

multiple second rounders wouldnt be bad either, we owe some of those the next few years

Oh thank god. I can live with it if all we give up for Kidd is a couple 2nd round picks.

I still think it makes more sense to just wait for you guys to fire him, but a couple 2nds won't kill us like an unprotected or protected first would.

Yes, it is against the CBA to include players in a deal for a coach. The NBA would definitely veto it.

Yeah, if I'm Prok...I absolutely go all-in here. Pay Kidd to do nothing, promote an assistant and let that person take over HC duties.

This is a bad situation for both teams, as now the Bucks have lame-duck HC/GMs. They'd want this resolved as much as we would. I'm not even going to ask for the Bucks own pick. I'd let them shop around and acquire someone else's 1st rounder, and then have them ship that to us instead.

I doubt all sides want Adam Silver poking in more than he has to with this anyway. If King doesn't end up receiving a 1st round pick even with protection, Milwaukee can have him too.

Damn Jason Kidd is the best coach killer the game has ever seen. As a college player, as a professional, soon to be an as executive. He is a basketball savant no doubt, but a terrible human being.
