KD is just ridiculous man. Makes no sense.

This team is a nightmare to guard.

IIRC, boards like the Heat and the Magic have postgame awards that they give to a player on their team after wins. For us, I was thinking that our award could be a crown (in reference to Brooklyn, “Kings” county).

In essence, after every win, we each vote to give a crown to the Brooklyn Nets player and give at least a short explanation as to who we thought was the MVP of the game. The player with the most votes gets the crown for the game. During the season, we can keep a running log and whoever has the most crowns is our “King of Brooklyn”.

The crown doesn’t always have to go to the best player or the one who scored the most points, so occasionally I’d expect guys like Harris and even Brown to get some crowns.

Thoughts?

Sign that executive order, chief!

May I also purpose a postgame thread nomination?

Yes! If they can work on his shooting with him, he’s going to be yet another in a long line of steals.

Even if his outside doesn’t improve he’s still a legit good rotation player.

Scrappy af, and a lot more skilled then I expected when we got him for Musa lol.

Neither Harden nor KD will care about MVP, if they can get a title.

I think they talking about dynasty. Imagine that in NY!!!

Were you the one saying you heard Knicks fans on the subway basically saying that they’re rooting for the Nets because “the city” needs a title?

The Nets are already going to have the cachet with the youth, since we have Kyrie, KD, and Harden on the team (...it’s still unbelievable to actually type this out). If this team wins one title, I fully expect a lot of people to start switching allegiances or at the very least switch from being a diehard Knick fan to a fan of both teams.

And I don’t blame them for switching. Dolan and the Knicks organization have done it to themselves! The Nets were the younger brother who they used to always punk because we were in NJ and not NYC. Well, now we’re in NYC and we’ve got arguably the most talented trio in NBA history.

I don’t like predicting things because injuries can always happen and derail the grandest of plans. (GSW experienced this firsthand with Durant and Klay going down in the Finals. If they were healthy, I’m pretty sure they would’ve won.) But we win just one title, the shift in market share will be palpable. If we win multiple, I don’t see how the city doesn’t flip.

But baby steps...I’m just gonna enjoy the process.

If you would’ve told me during the 12-70 season that we’d have 2 perennial MVPs and another star/superstar PG on our team in 2020, I would’ve smacked you. We were praying for the #1 pick and John Wall. Look at us now!!!

Nets are sending 2.6M in cash considerations compensation to Indiana.

We basically just paid for Caris and his medical bills for Indiana during the game.

Oh, and we still have Joe Harris leading the East in 3pt% and borderline all-star Spencer Dinwiddie who thinks he could be back by June...

I mean, that's definitely gonna be cleaned up with more continuity, but still, I think that's the main reason why Orlando kept it close throughout, we turned the ball over like crazy.

Harden 1 TO away from the quadruple double lol.

If they cut their TOs in half, this would’ve been a blowout.

And that’s precisely what I was hoping would be happen before the season started and everyone was healthy and not taking leaves.

I was hoping that the combination of our great talent plus great depth would overwhelm most teams such that KD and Kyrie would be resting for a lot of 4th quarters and they wouldn’t need to strain themselves during their first season back from injury. Well, we cut the depth but increased the concentration of talent to an absurd level such that we should be expecting blowouts on a regular basis.

Vucevic played well and they hit a lot of shots. Against most teams, their effort would’ve won them the game.

But KD had 40+ and Harden had a triple double in his debut. And despite the Magic keeping it close, I was never in doubt. KD and Harden had one run where they threw a couple haymakers in a few minutes and they singlehandedly won us the game at that time.

What’s crazy is that, even when were down, I was never in doubt because I KNEW KD and Harden were going to do precisely that at some point and win us the game. That’s what makes this so ridiculous.

Before the Harden trade there was no true PG on this team.

Kyrie was never an elite passer. Harden adds a new element that will help move the ball and get guys looks where they are comfortable.

To be more precise, I wouldn’t say that Kyrie wasn’t an elite passer. He can pass the ball at a high level. It’s just that Harden possesses elite vision, which is what separates the great PGs from the good ones.

He did say on IG: “Will I be back? Crazier things have happened”

There’s a chance he could return during the ECF timeline. Especially, with the possibility the league will pause for 7-14 days.

Yeah, there's a difference between being a really skilled passer, and having elite court vision. Harden possesses elite court vision, but Kyrie is still an exceptionally skilled passer.

I’d actually argue that (barring injury to another of the big 3) we actually wouldn’t benefit much from having him unless he transformed his game into something other than what made him a great player.

Unfortunately for him, Dinwiddie is now diminishing returns for us. We’d get benefit more if he was dealt for solid rim-running center or 3&D wing.

BTW, I have a favor to ask. Would it be possible to take Hello Brooklyn’s avatar, add Harden with crown on his head like Kyrie and KD have, and make into a banner GIF for a signature?

We said this last year about our issues and they never went away. We need to act now. We need more front court depth. Jordan sucks.

This is different. All we need is to clean up defensive toughness and rebounding with potentially 4 open roster spots with the most attractive destination outside of the Lakers to win a title.

Yeah, and last year we were both deficient in personnel/fit as well as overall talent.

We’ve got the talent now; we just need players who can fill out these standard, yet nevertheless important roles for rebounding and wing defense. Basically, if we got another Bruce Brown and another rebounding big, and we’d be golden.

How would that work with the DPE? I would assume he would not be able to return this season.

If an NBA doctor evaluates a player and deems their injury to be a significant “season-ending” injury, the team gets the DPE regardless of whether the player ultimately comes back early or not.

Good. Anything to support Caris.

On a side note, could you imagine being so rich that you could easily give away $2.6 million like it’s lost change you found in your sofa lol?
