Defense definitely took a nose dive after the half

Nice to see the Lin/Whitehead backcourt lineup

How come the offense is just "let's take turns bricking shots?"

In the regular season, this team is going to need red hot 3-point shooting all game long in order to compete. Looks like their defense is going to be pretty bad.
On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.

I keep thinking Waitors is Wade. They both make good plays but Waitors make equal amount of bad plays.

Well, that's the ultimate concern. Consistent offense from everyone not named Lopez/Lin.

D and O are both out of sync. Need to bring back the ball movement on O and communicate better on D.

This game pretty much confirms we're going to need a tight rotation of vets and young players. A lot of these guys are D league caliber right now.

MeowsALot wrote:my takeaways so far - it seems like only Lin can really create or penetrate... Jefferson and Booker should never ever handle the ball or try to go on 1on1 plays. Those guys hustle and its great but their offense is hard to watch - especially when try to force it. really impressed by some of the other shooters, Harris, Hamilton. Those guys will be great as spot up shooters.

Hopefully there will be a few other players who can emerge as a good penetrator other than Lin to have more options for the team or someone who can create their shot. Although Bogan is pretty sick.

Overall I think this team is going to surprise the league. They have hustle and heart, just need to pull it together and see if others will step up besides the main players who we already know will produce.

I've been saying for a while now that this team's weakness is going to be that they don't have a second creator/ball handler alonside Lin. Maybe they're hoping that Kilpatrick will fill in that role, but as of now, it's going to be really bad if Lin is pressured to give up the ball early or he's unavailable to play.

Ball movement will be extremely necessary for the Nets to have any shot at winning some games.

At this point, I'd rather have Lin chuck shots then let some of these other guys pretend they can score.

Foye?

The Heat are the best at pressuring tho.

Foye should help with the ball movement. It's definitely a glaring weakness not having a shot creator.

That would've been Tyler Johnson. Ugh.

Looks like Harris is a little too buff for a wing.

Foye can maintain an offense for a few minutes and spell the main PG while they get rest. But he is not a true ballhandler/creator. As others have said, I do think Tyler Johnson would've been a great complement to Lin as that secondary ballhandler.
