If we can turn KD and Kyrie into

Ayton
Bridges
Johnson
Rozier
Washington
Oubre
4 1sts
3 swaps

I think that will work for me.

Lol at the reports that nobody would be making moves until the KD trade goes through. Woj is dropping bombs like Pearl Harbor.

Breaking: Kevin Durant has requested a trade; wants to join PHX or Miami - Shams

How about this idea that’s being floated around?

Suns get: Durant

Jazz get: 3 1sts from PHX, Cam Johnson, Saric

Nets get: Donovan Mitchell, Mikal Bridges, 2 1st round picks via Utah/Minnesota, multiple 2nds, 4 pick swaps via PHX (2026, 2028, 2029)

Mitchell / Mills
Curry / Harris / Thomas
Bridges / O’Neal
Simmons / Edwards
Claxton / Sharpe

We can't take Mitchell due to that stupid ass rule without losing Simmons.

That would actually compete in the East. Mitchell feeding Simmons down low.

I still think Durant ends up in Phoenix but I suspect Riley is working the phones hard to see what they can get for Bam to add on to Herro and picks.

Ayton, Bridges, and all the picks is a solid deal.

That takes 12 notable players off the table in a Durant trade for the time being:

Luka Doncic, Mavericks
Trae Young, Hawks
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Clippers
De'Aaron Fox, Kings
Donovan Mitchell, Jazz
Bam Adebayo, Heat
Jayson Tatum, Celtics
Karl-Anthony Towns, Timberwolves
Devin Booker, Suns
Jamal Murray, Nuggets
Andrew Wiggins, Warriors
Joel Embiid, 76ers

playing around with the trade machine if we don't want Ayton i think i'd do this. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=258bhwqr
(basically KD for Bridges, Cam Johnson, filler + max picks).

we'd basically have a crap ton of 3 and D wings around Simmons/Curry/Harris/Patty and Claxton inside.

Simmons / Patty
Seth / Cam
O'Neale / Harris
Bridges / Other Cam
Claxton / Sharpe

Presumably their next move would be looking for more of a stretch C to compliment Claxton (ideally as part of the salary filler return in a kyrie deal?). Powell/Dinwiddie for Kyrie would fit this roster pretty well.

i'm pretty sure this kind of deal eliminates a lot of the complications with BYC and S&T stuff, though I presume it's maybe not enough which is why there's the current complication of figuring out what they can turn Ayton into (or how they can do a deal with him via S&T). if they dealt Harris I think they'd even be in position to have some cap room next summer.

Not sure there's anyone better than Ayton worth saving money for which is why i'd probably ultimately take the deal with him + bridges.

I know the Rockets control the Nets' picks for the foreseeable future, but that it a sunken cost. The front office shouldn't concern themselves with that. They should only concern themselves with trading for another superstar like Mitchell or someone similar (which would require the nets to move Simmons as everyone is aware) or trade for a young building block with superstar potential such as Mobley or Ball.

If it was up to me personally, I would try to package both KD and Kyrie to the hornets for LaMelo, salaries to match, and a boatload of picks. I think Jordan is the perfect kind of owner for the Nets to trade with as he would be willing to sell the farm to get household names that sell tickets (when they are actually on the court  ) And I'm sure Ball wouldn't mind coming to New York to increase his brand in a bigger market.

But regardless, I think something like this could work: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=25mtuscw

Nets get a combination of youth with with Boughknight and Ball while still getting veterans to remain competitive with Rozier and Hayward. The hornets would obviously need to throw in picks since they are getting the 2 best players in the deal, as it stands today, as well as getting off of Hayward's contract. I'm not sure how many picks they would have to include but I will leave that open for discussion, at least 5 first rounders/swaps at a minimum. And since Charlotte has never been a hot spot for superstars or free agents - once KD and Irving implode again and demand to leave (I give it one, maybe two seasons at most), the hornets future picks will be valuable.

This lineup isn't winning a championship, but at least keeps the team competitive with some young building blocks. And guys like Rozier, Curry, and Harris can be flipped for additional assets at the trade deadline or next off-season. And not that it concerns us, but the Nets save approximately $15M from this trade.

Ball/Curry/Mills
Rozier/Cam/Bouknight
Harris/Hayward/Duke
Simmons/Royce/Edwards
Claxton/Sharpe/?

If we can get Barnes and OG + picks/swaps, I take this over the Phoenix offer. Barnes is a future all star. We'd probably have to take back Gary Trent Jr also to make it work unless Toronto adds another team.

This trade works

Nets get:
Scottie Barnes
John Collins
Gary Trent Jr.

Raps get
Kevin Durant
Cam Thomas

Atlanta gets
OG Anunoby
Seth Curry

Nets:

Simmons/Mills
Harris/Trent Jr.
Barnes/O'Neale
Collins/Edwards
Claxton/Sharpe

This is a playoff team at bare minimum and the potential for future growth puts the Nets back in the right direction

I rather have OG than Collins. Barnes and OG can be interchangeable at 3/4 and both capable of switching on guards.

We have to also think about the return for Kyrie. If dealing with Charlotte, the package should include someone like PJW. He works great in the backup 4/5 role.

yea I think the Raps got the best pieces that will actually work because of that dumb rule that I never even heard about until now. I highly doubt KD wants to go up north but oh well, we need to think about OUR team and what suits US. Tired of these teams catering to these selfish entitled sissies and end up getting bit in the behind in the end. Barnes, OG and picks would be a great haul. I still believe in Marks

The Nets might be willing to accept a deal that includes a combination of sharpshooting point guard Terry Rozier, versatile wing Kelly Oubre Jr., former first-round pick P.J. Washington and draft compensation. The Nets are unlikely to accept Gordon Hayward back in an Irving deal, according to a league source, as Hayward is due in excess of $60M over the next two seasons and has had a number of injuries that have kept him off the floor the past two seasons.

Yes yes yes ! I always wanted Rozier, he has that dog in him.

I would take the Toronto deal over the Phoenix deal easily.

I'm totally opposed to paying Ayton that much. Especially with Claxton on the team.

Barnes is a nice piece.

But I still really want Jaylen Brown. Thats by far my preferred trade.

I could see Jaylen and Simmons making us a contender.

I think that if Scottie Barnes is on the table, we need to negotiate with Toronto. He has the highest ceiling out of any piece that we can get outside of Jaylen Brown.

However, if Boston is offering Brown and Smart, I dump KD to them instantly. Brown, Simmons, and what Kyrie can fetch us keeps us relevant.
