Thorn stated that there was issues with chemistry...did not want to blame Kidd alone, but it was definitely an issue...they want to make the playoffs and think we can w. the current Nets unit...obviously a lot has to do with how much of contribution Harris can make due to his injury...
Thorn also eluded to that if he knew Kidd was going to ask for a trade...he would of possibly went in a different direction with the contract he gave Vince Carter...

YES!!!!
best news so far. wow how stupid of the mavs to protect this years pick and leave 2010 UNPROTECTED. WOOOOOOT hahaha wow I'm pumped. As of what he said of Miller, I'm not going to shed too many tears over it, we would've had to lose at least one of our draft picks for him I mean for people to think we could've gotten him for just boki's and maggs's expirings would be pretty naiive.

Pugsley, I am with you.
Great News!!! Next Year the West will be tougher for Dallas. Spurs should be back healthy. The Suns will be better. NO will be better. Utah will be better. Lakers would be healthy. Even Houston, GS and Portland will be better. They will be good, but it will be hard then this year.
I wouldnt add any pieces this year. Trade VC for expiring and picks like Kidd I would be happy. Sit Krstic and RJ for the rest of the season.
TANKING ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!

I think it is important to give it our best shot the rest of the year. I wouldn't make any "now" trades, and if I could ditch VC I would, but at the same time there would be a big credibility crisis if we go right back to the way we were pre-Kidd. Not to mention everyone would probably say "they are just waiting for Brooklyn". Plus there are no sure things with the lottery system.
The best case scenario is to go all out and do the following.
a) Hope someone gives up something good for VC and/or make a trade for an all star big man right now. Both are very doubtful.
b) Play out the season, hope that some of new building blocks step up and gel. And hopefully Carter can carry the team to a few playoff wins because that will greatly enhance his trade value.
c) In the offseason let Rod do what he does best. Use whatever picks, expirings, and prospects we have (which will hopefully include a good return on VC) and find this team its next franchise player.
Worst case scenario, we make no trades, the team goes in the toilet, we get ourselves a top 10 pick anyways, and then dump Carter in the offseason for whatever we can get.

well this trades finally done, you guys are gonna love devin, he's a 1 man fast break and can break down a defense with his penetration like no other. i hate giving up diop b/c i think losing him makes us weaker in the interior
ive read a little on wright from u guys and are pretty down on him aside from being an ok defender. but how good is malik allen? can he play defense and rebound, is he a good shot blocker?

Don't count on anything from Allen. I like Wright since he has nice defense and does what he is supposed to. His shot is decent but his play tends to be based on his confidence which is very up and down.

The Mavs are 2 games from being the number #1 seed in the West. And by the way they are also 2 games from being in the lottery. So if they all stay healthy they will certainly not be in the lottery. But they are still one major injury away from having a lottery pick this year.
I would have preferred that both picks be lottery protected but protecting this years is not as ridiculous as it might seem at first glance. The West is absolutely stacked and if Dirk gets hurt for an extended period the Mavs could easily slip out of the top 8.

Nope. He's a good spot up shooter though.
