Comparing Lin to any other good player is almost considered holy blasphemy around here (and only Lin has haters like this). I'm not getting into that, at least until Lin has a good number of Nets games in his record.
Agreed. It's a lose-lose situation. If one goes to the optimistic side, one would be called a homer or extreme; if one goes to the pessimistic side......what's the point? There is no way to decide whether a speculation is precise until after the event.
OTOH, it'd be interesting to see how Harden would do being without Lin and D12 for the first time. He'll try to be the point guard again, with a serious stretch four. Would MDA ball succeed again?
It'd be interesting if Lin's plugged in to the Clippers. Lob City with Blake and DAJ + shooters. I dunno if it's CP3 or it's Doc, they should do better than what they've done.
I'm glad you didn't start a new thread, that's for sure.
Yes. Ever notice that the Lin haters are a lot like religious fanatics? Some Lin fans -- who are far, far fewer than the haters -- are the same, but most of us prefer a calm, rational, and honest discussion. Perhaps that will be possible after Lin has proven his worth.
It would be great if both sides just talked about what Lin discussed he wanted to do. He wanted to implement the coach's system on both the defensive and offensive end and take note, Lin mentions defense before offense. He did that with Charlotte too in his interviews, he'd often mention defense before offense whether talking about the team's effort or how he played in a game or wants to play.
That's it. He's got nothing to prove to anyone. He's a team player who knows that if he's on the court longer and has more involvement in the offense, he's more effective. But that's it. There's no talk of Net wins, his numbers, none of the stuff we on the boards go over ad nauseam. In fact, how he fits with others in Atks system seems to be his focus, also his job as a veteran on a team with a lot of young players.
