Against the Lakers though, you guys are not scared of them but they are coming to be a legitimate young team with real talent. They are a definition of a good developing team. And people saying the Nets are a development first team, yeah well so are the Lakers and they are not sacrificing wins for developing because in no way does it helps them better develop. To them, they don't view it as development first, win second although they do primarily value development, winning is simply a byproduct of their development not a separate entity.
I expect the Clippers as well as the Lakers to be hard fights for us, what I want and will be satisfied with is that we continue to play hard and not give up.
i dont think brook is the difference between winning and losing the lakers game. he did next to nothing tonite outside of a 2 or 3 blocks in the first minute and we won by 15.
We will win or lose games based on shooting.13-35 from three tonite. brook playing well obviously helps our chances of winning... but we can beat LA without him. they arent some jauggernaut. the beat teams who think they can win without playing hard... but that wont happen vs us.
we hit our shots, we will win. brook or no brook
The Lakers are better than you are giving them credit for.

To be honest, this is the first game I see the potential of RHJ being a solid starter, maybe it is Devin booker's lazy defense:)
Hope LeVert pans out, then we have nice roster assembled.

Caught the second half of the game. Phenomenal start to the road trip and a game we really couldn't afford to lose for team morale. We're getting pretty solid play throughout the roster, and like I've been saying Mini-Lebron(Booker) is an absolute monster and really helps our spacing with his toughness/physicality and offensive rebounding. That being said, I think at best we probably go 1-2 these next few games. Walton has the Lakers playing really well. This is not the Kobe/BS-led Lakers of the past few years. These guys are winners. They've been showing a lot of fire in their play and I don't think people are taking them seriously yet. Their FA additions were pretty good and Nance is rounding into a very solid player. Their main hole is D-Lo is not a starting caliber PG, so we'll see if Skil can go to work. That's gonna be a dog fight of a game though.

RHJ could have scored 0 last night and you STILL should have seen why he can be a solid starter based on that game. his D/Rebouding/effort level is the why he is out there.

I couldn't be more impressed with Marks and Kenny through these first few months of the season. Marks missed out on his 1st, 2nd and probably 3rd options in free agency but didn't panic and recruited wisely with a focus on the future over the present.
They spent the offseason focussing on development over all else and its paying off in wins atm. Some people on here seem to think that you can't win while making development the top priority but its actually the opposite. Development is just a fancy word for improving and of course improving leads to better performance and for us right now, wins.
If KA and the FO were more concerned with winning, would RHJ have lasted through his rough spell when all the bet wetters on here we calling for him to lose minutes, go to the d-league or move to China? Because our organisation isn't too worried about our record they let him play through his struggles and its paid off over the last 4 games.
If they cared about winning over all else, wouldn't they have got in a veteran PG when Vasquez went down because Whitehead wasn't ready? And when we suddenly were without our 1st, 2nd and 3rd string pg's wouldn't we have scraped the trash can for a used up vet or made a panic trade? Instead they let Whitehead play and gain invaluable experience, where he showed that in time he could be a genuine rotation player. Instead they let Skill, who had spent the offseason 'developing' his handles, take the reigns, add another string to his bow and help us to 2 unlikely wins.
If it was all about the 'W', wouldn't KA have immediately gone back to last year's Nets offense and spent the last 3 games (maybe the whole year) feeding Lopez in the post and hoping for the best? Instead we have spent the offseason developing our motion offense and continued that, even under hardship, into the season.
Our organisation has a plan: to develop/improve everything. They have spent the last 5 months puting that plan in to action. I don't think it matters to KA and the FO if that development costs a possession, a game or a whole season, but atm its producing wins. Hopefully everyone keeps on 'developing'.

This is all spot on. its about development... and while sometimes that may cost a win it still doesnt mean you are tanking or trying to lose. you can be about development and still have guys playing hard, buying in and being competitive.
Kenny is going to do whats best to develop... they wont knee jerk like posters here and turn to an approach to scratch and claw for wins or bench young guys to try and save games late.
Also, props to ownership.... they didnt bat an eye when we tripled the size of our staff, built new training facilities and started giving all kinds of extra perks. and we havent heard a peep from the PR folks who are typically in your face 24/7.
you can see the culture change

Watching practically all the Lakers games, just do not agree, only his ability to shoot and his size by itself, already make him a good player, he will only get better and better.

I also don't agree with his characterization of D-Russell...Russell is absolutely an NBA caliber PG even right now and we seem to forget the guy is only 20 year old but already averaging 16ppg while shooting 37% from 3point arc....His assist is a bit low, but I wouldn't worry about that so much since he's so young + they have guys like Randle, Clarkson, Ingram handling too.
Russell is on the same trajectory with Devin Booker and both have a chance to be All-Stars.

i dont think its a down on him thing. he just isnt the right thing for this franchise right now. when your developing you need vet guys like scola to play. i dont think this offense would run as smooth if we just threw all the young guys in... especially the lower iq ones like bennett.

RHJ could have scored 0 last night and you STILL should have seen why he can be a solid starter based on that game. his D/Rebouding/effort level is the why he is out there.
This shouldn't have to be explained. It's pretty disrespectful to our fanbase in general when non fans of this team starting coming on here giving backhanded compliments to our guys.
