i dont think brook is the difference between winning and losing the lakers game. he did next to nothing tonite outside of a 2 or 3 blocks in the first minute and we won by 15.
We will win or lose games based on shooting.13-35 from three tonite. brook playing well obviously helps our chances of winning... but we can beat LA without him. they arent some jauggernaut. the beat teams who think they can win without playing hard... but that wont happen vs us.
we hit our shots, we will win. brook or no brook
The Lakers are better than you are giving them credit for.
we will see. to me they as pretty bad. ive only watched 4 or their games, but im not impressed. most of their wins ive seen the other team didnt take them serious and when they started to it was too late
Being from LA, I've seen many of their games and the years past.
Agree they started preseason as a mess. Looked like young lost gunners like the Suns.
But with each game, Luke Walton has them playing better and better and he actually leans on the more mature and equally talented bench and wisely benches DRusell and Julius Randle if they start chucking and playing immature loser basketball like the Suns do.
In their last 2-3 games since they lost to Denver (equivalent to the Nets' Bulls loss this season) the Lakers got their act together since then.
Unfortunately I think the Nets will lose to both LA teams and maybe will have their best chance against OKC if RW decides to go full ball hog machine.
I do agree of the 2 teams in LA, the Nets have a better shot of being the Lakers if they can force DRuss & JRandle & Clarkson to revert to being young and stupid.
Luke Walton and the staff have done a magnificent job changing up the starting lineup and bench lineup. It's a very strong balance that Luke decided upon. Moving the rookie Ingram to PG at times also smart and reminds me of Shaun Livingston. The more I watch the Lakers the more I think Luke really did have a lot to do with that 30+ win last season with the Warriors. I hold a lot of resentment towards the Lakers for what they did to Lin (a lot of it was just bad timing more than anything) but they're about to explode in the next 2-3 years and I think they're a playoff team in the West this season already.
At the end of the year, I think coach of the year should be between Atkinson and Luke Walton though I can see Tyron Lue getting it too because sometimes it's more about the record than the actual coaching job.
