I dont think that is the case. it was in denver. he is a much better player then that. he actually has a really high bbiq. Drummond on the other hand takes a ton of questionable shots

Sorry Prok. But I don't think McGee & high BBIQ should be mentioned in the same sentence...

McGee is not awful defensively at all. He's long, quick footed and takes up plenty of space vertically. He's also played on some very good defensive teams in the warriors and last season's Lakers. He'd instantly make our defense better

However he does get pushed around by more physical players in the post and on the boards so he isn't a full time solution. For 20 minutes a game he would be great

If we cut down on 2nd chance opps we start blowing teams out left and right

This x2. As bad as our defense seems to be, if we can reduce the turnovers & opponent second chance opportunities we'd be at least decent defensively.

I agree. He would be a great back up center but we already have Deandre for that role.

Nets need a starting center.

He over dribbled there, but he also took harrell the prior possesisons for scores.

the bricked shot was with 1 second on the shot clock off the inbound. its not like it was a pull up early in the clock.

McGee has a great bbiq. always in the right spots, right rotations, right passes.

Either could start. combined you'd get 40+ minutes with the rest left for small ball.

Today is the deadline to sign a 14° player, and Nash says we're going to sign a FA instead to convert Perry/Chiozza. I still hope to say welcome home to RHJ!

Gerald Green is a name to look out for. Great streaky shooter and athletic 2/3 . He thrived under MDA in Houston

I would only be interested in JJ If he gets bought out. His large salary doesn't make it feasible at all to trade for him.

I’d trade him for Dinwiddie if he hasn’t given us any indication that he will be willing to pick up his PO option.

Reddick would be great but that would mean we gotta get rid of Shamet which is ok. I rather Hart though

I'll admit, I think this is getting ridiculous at this point. We need defensive players, not more offense-only guys. And Redick may very well be washed up at this point. He can't play defense anymore, and he's shooting even worse than Shamet from 3 so far.

If we're trading Dinwiddie, I'd rather do it for a big.

I think JJ would be great for us if he gets bought out. I follow his podcast pretty regularly (highly recommended btw), and he'd be an awesome locker room presence/vet, who is desperate for a championship at this point of his career. JJ and his family love Brooklyn too, they live in Brooklyn during offseason. I feel like his shooting can definitely bounce back because he was shooting the ball well in bubble & preseason, so I don't think his shooting just suddenly fell off a cliff in a few months. I would feel pretty confident that he'd be really good for us if we could get him, but I agree, you don't want to use any assets to get him. It has to be buyout.

Couple of roster building concerns
Are the Big 3 married to Jordan?
If not pairing his contract with Spencer could land our 4th star.
If so Spencer is the last core contract. I would push for Covington, Gordon, Maxi on the Mavs or Larry Nance Jr. A focus on paint defense and/or a core wing defender all along adding another core shooter to our four of Kyrie/Harden/Durant/Joe.
Shamet was moved for a 1st if he’s out the rotation he HAS to be moved for someone who is gonna be apart of the rotation.
Not much can be done if DJ is a guaranteed core member. Spencer is valuable but not the fit we need. So Spencer contract trade is the most important asset we have.
Off-season defensive minded ring chasers will be available. Iggy/Danny Green/Dwight etc.

Did everyone see this above?

The 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Celtics have emerged as potential trade destinations for JJ Redick, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Redick prefers returning to the northeast area with his family currently in Brooklyn.

No trade is currently imminent, according to The Athletic.

February 2nd is the deadline for players to be traded and still be aggregated for future trades ahead of the March 25th trade deadline.

As I’ve said, this defense is absolutely horrific. This team doesn’t have a chance at a title without major trades happening.

The idea of some buyout candidates coming in and saving the day is fantasy.

People overreacting too much on a game by game basis. We have some tough games this February, I wanna see how we play in those before making any definitive statements.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
