Re: Nets Trade Yi Jianlian To Wizards For Quinton Ross, Cash
Personally I would be happy with lebron and david lee. Both we could get with the space we have now and maybe a mill or 2 left to sign a back up point guard.
I think harris, lee, lebron, david lee and lopez would make a killer starting 5 that would actually complement each other and work. Having harris, lebron, bosh and lopez in the starting five might have a problem of who gets the ball and when. Can they actually work together. I think harris can go back to his dallas days and be the set-up man and defender he used to be. I think lopez would do fine following up things and finishing off of lebron's passes. But throw in Bosh and lopez will get much less and harris may not exist at all.
With david lee I think he will complement lopez and lebron as the two stars. Lee would be the garbage man and Lopez the star post player. Lee is a good shooter from the outside, great rebounder and good IQ. He and lopez would work great together. When one is in the post the other one will step out. When one goes for the block the other for the charge. I think It would work well.
Bosh is too much of a ball hog to be on a team with lebron and other players.

Re: Nets Trade Yi Jianlian To Wizards For Quinton Ross, Cash
I am fine either way. not going to over think that part of it...fit.
I am the guy who made post after post about Lebron/Lee. And I do love it.
But...if all it costs us at this stage is Hump, a second rounder, some cash..and even if we have to S&T for Bosh with a deal that doesnt send away any Favors or anyone still under contract...I am fine going in a bit more for Bosh. Willing to give up D.James...and future picks to get Bosh.
Why? not just because he is better than Lee which he is. Or because I am arguing for fit. Is simply because...i feel if Bosh is willing to come here...that's the game set match on Lebron. he could CHOOSE to come if Bosh makes other plans to go elsewhere. But, I think if Bosh and Lebron speak and Bosh says...I am down lets do this? i think we HAVE it. Not just in the mix...I am saying...WE DID IT.

Does anybody knows how the trade exception work? Because i've been adding up the numbers and us getting CP3 Lebron and Bosh can really work.
imagine that our line up:
CP3
Lee
LBJ
Bosh
Lopez
can you say dynasty?

In a perfect world that would be possible but hence, this world isn't perfect and that proposal isn't possible, not by a long shot.
BTW, Nice to see a fellow Nets fan from my old hometown of the Bronx! We're definitely a rarity!

Harris/T-Will
Lee/T-WIll
LBJ/DJ
Bosh or Amare/Favors
Lopez/Favors
Is that lineup suppose to score 200 points? I dont understand why everyone wants that 2nd max so bad. If we are getting a scoring PF we might as well look to get rid of Lopez cause having him becomes pointless. I'd take someone like Perkins over Lopez in the line-up above.
Come on now!
I´m convinced he just does it for attention, please pay him no mind.
Goodbye Yi, you were a real eye sore.

But you're a guy so you don't count. Asian women, especially if they take care of themselves, can really look young for their age. A cousin of mine got married at 30, and if you saw the picture you'd think she's 15 or 16.

Re: Nets Trade Yi Jianlian To Wizards For Quinton Ross, Cash
I have an observation to make.
Nets, Knicks, Bulls, Heat and Cavs are the teams with a shot at Lebron.
If all of those teams were asked the question....since the season ended what have you done to IMPROVE your team..the only team on that list who could actually show that they made their team better rather than worse is US.
I mean dumping Yi, Dooling, CDR while adding Dion James and the #3 pick in the draft is overall an improvement. Compare that to...all of those teams giving away their 1st round pick...plus Lee, Harrington, Hinrich, every decent Heat player they had?
All of those teams the pitch is basically...come save our team which we deliberately made worse so we can pay you. Ours is, we stockpiled prospects and picks, we have a center and PG in place we are loaded with future trade chips or players who might develop around you and after only 3 step back seasons...we are ready to get back the NBA finals. We think we can offer you the most talent to play with today...and in the years to come. And yeah...we have more assets for trades...and we are willing to pay those guys to go over the cap in years to come.
The Knicks and Heat wont be able to add more pieces because once they add you...they will have to take half a roster of junk. The Cavs are loaded with contracts that are not worth more talented players. Z was the last big expring contract the Cavs had for the next couple of years unless you bring back Shaq on a one year deal. And the Bulls while also talented...we have more pieces in place...and their owner does not have the reputation of showing a willingness to operate his team over the LTT.
Jus feeling happy. Thought I would share....

As a poster from another board, I agree with your analysis 100%. I still think the Bulls are Lebron's first choice but if they can't get the space for 2 max contracts, that may very well be a serious problem. They don't get there unless a S&T for Deng is agreed upon or else they give up Gibson & Johnson.

If he can hold on to the GS pick the better. I would use our own pick first before using GS's.

Dear Nets Dudes,
On the Wiz board I was making the point that this trade has an awful lot ot do with marketing potential and endorsement deals for Wall and maybe also team revenue. I'm more iffy on the team revenue, but I have heard you guys casually mention somewhere or another about the players on your team having endorsement deals in China.
This was shot down by someone with a direct ear to team personnel who called the money "a trickel", but I'm still having a hard time buying it. Especially considering Wall is with Reebok, same as Yao, and also shares an agent with Yi (Dan fegan). I think it's all about the Yuan, baby.
Anyway, my google-fu was pretty spotty in coming up with Nets player endorsement deals in the Empire, though I found a bunch of Rocket links. Could anyone help out with a link for assorted Nets players who were directly benefiting fiscally from the Chinese connection? Or maybe corroborate with something quotable?
I would much appreciate it, folks. And good luck in the great chase.
