Speaking of top players, Jimmy Butler is in the conversation too. Basically a slightly worse version of Kawhi.

Doncic reached untradable category as of last year. I would send Kyrie, KD and Caris for him in a heart beat without even thinking twice. If we had both Harden and LBJ i would send them with five first round picks along.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean?

I gave him huge praise here.

And wow, my prediction on a player was wrong lol, bet you never got one wrong...

Plus for all of Westbrook's gawdy stats and swag, he's not a player you ever win a title with as a main piece. I'd still take Dwont's peak 3 years over any year of Westbrook if I had aspirations outside the 1st round.

What it means is how you evaluate players right now and moving forward. There's no way LBJ and Harden has more value than Luka to any team ( with all due respect to LBJ ). Davis would be watching games on his couch right now as he did In years past, Luka made history last night if you missed that fact.
Russ was smart and right direction to go to back than. Both B.LO and Russ would've attracted star players to NYC ( which is attractive in its own ) and we could've build something. Instead we took huge gamble and paid the price for it's failure. And if we being honest, better half of Nets fans flipped flopped in a blink of an eye with that decision. I questioned that decision, to be frank didn't like it. However I did like huge gamble because I wanted to go all in and to this day I think it was right decision to take a trade once D.Will was resigned.
Right now I believe we should take our time and see how things work out next year before we do anything. It'll logical and calculated move. If you consider everything right now, time is on our side.

Right now, I think it’s way too premature to say that Luka is better than LeBron. 100% I would take Luka over LeBron moving forward, but right now, at this moment? LeBron still hasn’t shown a considerable decline from his peak, I’m still gonna roll with him over pretty much anyone around the league until he clearly demonstrates that he can’t sustain the same impact in the playoffs.

The Lakers are in trouble. They are so lucky they don’t have to see the Blazers in Portland but either way, this is looking like a nightmare matchup for them.

Eh, I'm still going Lakers in 5.

Melo looks awesome as a 4 even though he's having a bad shooting game, if he doesn't re-sign with Portland I'd love to see him on our team.

Yup, same with KD and Curry if either came back at 90% or better.

Anything past next season would only take Giannis over Luka though, and even that gives me pause. Kawhi and Harden are close and young enough to still be better for a few years, but I'd still side with Doncic.

This Blazers team ain't your average 8th seed, don't get that twisted in your head. They just came of WCF last year. Bucks on the other hand better get their crap together or they'll get bounced quick.

Slightly related to this, the other day I was thinking about the Warriors and Cavs being the two worst teams in the league this season. I.e. GS with a record of 15-50 (.231) and CLE with a record of 19-46 (.292), with every other team in the league being better than them.

1) Have two finalists who played each other for the trophy (only two seasons earlier) ever dropped off so steeply like this?

2) Has any single finalist ever dropped off so hard the very next season? Has any single champion? (other than some recent obvious ones like the Cavs in 2010 after LeBron left, or the Bulls in '98 after Jordan & crew left)

But with those Cavs, Bulls and these Warriors teams, it's glaringly obvious why it all happened. More weirdly interesting would be a team that brought back most of its core, didn't suffer injuries, yet still collapsed.

I guess it's almost impossible for something like that to happen, though. I can't think of why, other than maybe a coaching change and/or star players feuding badly? Kobe and Shaq feuding didn't come close to this level of collapse, for example.

It's still early in the series, though last night looked typical for both clubs. Without Bradley and Rondo, the Lakers have no one to get under the dribble of either CJ or Dame. Green and Caruso are both very good perimeter defenders, but they were on skates all night, and I don't see that changing. LeBron and Davis can still decide this series on their own, but the margin for error is thin.
