OTOH, poor bloggers, that hater BigBob who was banned in RealGM for pretending to be a Lin fan in the Hornets forum is harassing Nets fans there as Bigfatbob.

Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

Yeah, it's kind of a troll poll if you ask me. I won't let it distract me from, well, Lin's play speaking for itself.

No problem. However, if you want us to be fair, you will have to be fair too. If you want us to acknowledge the losses, you'll have to acknowledge the wins.
My expectation is that you will not be remotely fair, even while demanding fairness from the Lin fans. You will loudly harp on his mistakes and totally disappear when he is brilliant.

Since you seem to be from Houston's main board (Clutchfans), I will try to phrase this in your language. Imagine that Harden's fouled so hard that he doesn't get up, and his career ends. Do you understand now?

My bad, I had a little too much to drink and I didn't read your initial post properly. I just quoted, replied and went to bed. My apologies.

Manitoba,
You do have to bear in mind that not everyone on this forum are native English speakers. My mother tongue is Chinese, not English.
However, I do agree that what Claud stated in his post was pretty clear (even for non-native English speakers) after re-reading his post when I woke up this morning.
My initial reply was a simple neutral statement stating a fact (that came about because I didn't read well properly and I was under the influence of alcohol and tiredness). I do not think there was any part of my post that sounded like I am disrespecting Lin or trying to put Lin down. I am confused why it made me sound like a Lin hater.
I don't usually respond to replies, but I made a mistake so I am offering an apology for my mistake. Let us move on.
I appreciate it, but please don't worry.

Top 10, I don't know. But JKidd was a great player, one of the top and at times the top PG when he played. And on both ends of the floor.
Please, read more carefully before you start to kneejerk like a Lin hater.
Claud has already clarified his initial statement. He should not have needed to do that as his initial statement was perfectly clear. "The best [Nets] PG since Kidd" does not mean "as good as Kidd".
EDIT: minor fixes.
I found that there are many non native English speakers (including myself) trying to mislead or misread statements here. E.g. Best PG since kidd = as good as Kidd; def is better than haren = overall better than haren; not sure if they intentionally read like this or want to make Lin looks bad... But it really drives people crazy.
IAs long as the poster is honest, I am not too concerned.

He'll probably do best under a fast paced offense that is spread out with shooters around him..That is important specially for Lin because he likes to drive into the lane, so you want to surround Lin with good shooters so that defense doesn't clog up the middle and keep the lane open for the drive.
A ballhog will hog the ball regardless of what his teammates do. Lin is different -- he needs cooperative teammates.
Hince the problem with the Nets...They only have Bogs as the only shooter that scares anyone, so the lane will be thick with bodies...Lin's turnover tend to occur when he's inside the lane and there's too many hands in there swatting at the balls...Or Lin being called for a charge because he tried to force a drive to the basket with too many defenders in the lane.
Anyhow, it will be interesting to see what sytem Atkinson plays.
Something tells me the best line up for Lin is below:
Lin
Bogs
Harris
Scola
Lopez
that starting 5 will probably be weak defensively, but as for fit, I believe it could work well offensively for Lin.
I feel Bennett could be a big help. Just a hunch.
Perhaps AB has never been on the floor with a world-class playmaker (Kyrie is a scorer, not a passer), and he could be completely different with Lin. In the past, he's had to work extremely hard for his points, and now he can let the ball find him. I've a feeling he'll do well.
My guess at the team's eventual starting lineup: Lin / RHJ / Bennett / McCullough / Lopez.

Q: If you could pick the brain of one person in basketball history, who would it be?
A: It would probably be Steve Nash, because I felt like what Nash did, and the things that he did, are the things that I need to learn to grow as a player. I would ask him about every facet of professional basketball.
Friggin cheap Lakers, let Nash coach Clarkson but not Lin.

Luckily he got some after the season.

Re: The Official Lin Net Thread
its interesting to see both Lin and Fitzpatrick's career paths... Both are former Harvard Crimsons... Both are fringe starters and top backups... Lin had a crazy run to put himself in the map 2012, got himself first lucrative deal... Fitzpatrick had a fantastic run in 2011, got himself a lucrative deal too...both broke out in NY state. When Lin played in Houston, Ryan followed, he was traded to Houston Texans... Ryan moved to New York Jets, Lin came over signed with Brooklyn Nets.

TinmanZBoy is an excellent poster who, while a huge fan of Lin is also cognizant of basketball and general and makes many cogent comments about the NBA and Lin's team. This was clear on the Hornets RealGM board last year. Constant insults of Lin fan posters who have less-than-wildly-enthusiastic comments about Lin is tiring and adds an unnecessarily hostile tone to discussions. Even on the CF board (where Lin played 3 years ago so it's time to let go) the general fans have become more supportive. Yes Tinman continues his bizzare trollings and rambling about '99ers but overall even CF sees Lin quite fairly and positively.
RealGM is not Portal where all posters who doubt Lin are instantly banned. There are a lot of opinions here on various players and new players will be judged on their results. I expect good results from Lin next season if he remains healthy (knock wood) and a reasonably fun time for the fan base given the rebuilding phase of the team. Clearly there is already a big boost on the PR side as shown in the latest NYPost article. Lin always makes the job of PR folks easier and many local fans are going to be in his corner come the start of the season, looking for any bright spots to rally behind.

Yeah, when I first saw you post on RealGM I was stunned "TinmanZboy" are one entity?!
Now, I don't always agree with what you say. But you, ChokeFasncists, bws94, and others have represented Lin fans well on RealGM and drive interesting basketball discussions. It will be interesting to see how many Brooklyn fans can be converted to BrookLin fans (trying too hard to be clever). it will be interesting how many fans Lin can encourage to actively follow the Nets this season. Has the potential to be a great bookend to the story started in 2012 though personally I can't see any scenario, barring amazing mid-season trades, that give the Nets any shot at 8th seed.

That guy was really disgusting ... but he doesn't bother me though.
It's laughable to me anytime a so-called pro fan talking about the confident issues/psycho in sports. It's like he is the doctor or something which it isn't the case.
