I completely disagree about Jordan. He was good defensively last season and will be ever more motivated with Kyrie/KD. I think he will be awesome defensively. Not as good as his peak but close.

He will be crucial in guarding guys like Embiid or Bam.

Prince is a massive "if." But I want to take a chance on him rather than just giving up and having to trade from someone else.

Zach Lowe even included him in his latest columns about players that can improve this year.

Really hope you are right. In theory, he should be more motivated this season. Finally will play along with his best friends.

All Prince has to do this year is catch and shoot threes, rebound and play defense. In theory, it shouldn't be a tall task for a guy of his skill level.

Y'all are sleeping on TLC.
He came into the league known for his D. He also played really well in the bubble and showed the ability to shoot the 3.

Taurean Prince and Jeff Green. They both have the size and length to do it.

Deandre Jordan will provide the interior defense we need.

Really? those will be your primary defenders against the great guards/wing players? DJ and Allen will both struggle on switches but are great shot blockers so again it seems like yall are going for the Suns style of play.

I think Taurean Prince will be a great defender in the right system against other wing players.

We can always go small if Allen/DJ switching is a problem. Depends on the matchup. We need them for guys like Bam or Embiid.

It gets even better

The Houston Rockets have no interest in a trade package from the Brooklyn Nets for James Harden unless it includes either Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving.

Brooklyn's trade package for Harden is widely believed to be some combination of Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie and future first round picks.

The Rockets are seeking a young star and numerous draft assets for Harden.

Both Durant and Irving are signed through 2022 and committed to the Nets in the 2019 offseason.

Marks needs to walk away and let Houston come crawling back when they get offered garbage by Milwaukee and Miami, as if Giannis or Jimmy Butler will be getting traded. This is beyond silly, and frankly I'm over it. I could care less about Harden coming here, I am more interested in who we have here now and winning a championship with them.

The Nets would be stupid to do that since no other team is going to trade their star player for James Harden, the idea is to pair harden up with other all stars.

Houston's owner is a deluded nutjob.

ya if I were you i'd trade Harden for Kyrie right away. Harden is the much superior player.

yes it would be a steal and you get to retain all or most of your role players.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

I find it really hilarious that clueless fans outside of the Nets fanbase who hate Kyrie really think that Sean Marks is going to risk upsetting KD by trading Kyrie out in a snake move.

Christ you people are stupid. Did the Lakers trade Lebron for Anthony Davis when Davis forced his way to the Lakers? in what league has a superstar trade ever resulted in equal value? use your heads.

The only team Harden is getting traded to is the Sixers. Maybe Milwaukee if they feel they aren't going to be able to lockup Giannis long term, which it looks like they won't.

Kyrie Irving is the only reason the Nets are this relavant right now. If Kyrie did not want to come "Home" to play, him and KD would be on another team. Just take a look at our free agent track record.

Kyrie for Harden would be an idiotic move. Kyrie is the whole reason KD came here. Hes the hometown kid,

We would ruin or relationship with KD if we did that. If KD wanted to play with Harden so bad he would have found a way to Houston last year. He wanted to team up with Kyrie.

You don't just trade one player for another. This isn't 2K.

Real franchises that are building sustainability don’t make stupid PR moves like that.

That would also ruin entire relationships with KD, Dinwiddie, Roc Nation, etc.

I've been saying for a while now, Houston has unreasonable demands.

We don't need Harden. Were the best team in the East as is. I would way rather stand pat and do nothing than deal with this Harden drama for the next 6 months.

I would take the Nets over any team in the East after they make a trade anyway.

The idiots are projecting their own personal feelings on the situation. It's basically "herp derp I hate Kyrie so the Nets front office does too".

Morons. And they have the nerve to come on our board with this crap. Stick to the GB circle jerk where Kyrie lives rent free in your heads.

No one is going to gut their roster for James Harden. Tilman Fertitta is basketball dumb.
