Jesus, the Clippers don't have their own pick again until 2027. Every year from here out is unprotected, either by straight owed, or pick swap options. And both Kawhi and PG are FA's in the '22 off-season. Billy King level scary **** right there.

Now let's break down what beat them. #1 Elite offensive guard play by Jamal Murray. #2 wings and forwards that can defend and switch. Look at the putrid shooting stats from the Clippers' superstar wings. Leonard and George both shot sub 30% from the field.

And then obviously, the Joker is a supreme talent, racking up 22 rebs, 13 assists, and 16 points.

the Nets need to take notes.

Marks has to take notes on the Clippers too.

LA was supremely talented but they felt disjointed all year. Felt like they just took turns scoring. Didn't really like each other. They had so many great scorers and defenders that it didn't matter. I kinda felt like our team next year could be similar talent wise. Kyrie + KD as the main iso scorers like Kawhi + PG. Dinwiddie + LeVert as the bench punch like Lou Will and Montrez. A bunch of good roleplayers surrounding them.

This emphasizes the importance of an actual offensive system, strong chemistry + finding lineups that are playoff ready. We can't just rely on our talent and play straight iso ball.

Coaching is a good part of it. Doc is so overrated. This is like the 6th time he had the lead in a series and blew it. I hope Steve Nash is more like Steve Kerr than Jason Kidd. The Nuggets looked like they wanted it more and PG is a choker.

yea this can go down as one of the worst trades in history. SGA will be a close to star level player, he might even cancel out PG13 by himself. Those 2025 and 2026 picks look ridiculous. Clippers should still be a contender next year and the year after so hopefully for them they have a finals appearance by then to keep those 2 guys. Kawhi still great but i have to question paul George here.

Remember how bad the NBA wanted Kobe vs. Lebron ? And now the NBA and everybody else wants Kawhi vs. Lebron but we may never see that one either.

I think the Clippers biggest problem was they didn’t have any above average playmakers.

The Nets on the other hand have three (Kyrie, Dinwiddie, and LeVert). KD, DJ, and Allen are also really good at finding open teammates.

I think one of the best things we have going for us, is we will always have multiple playmakers on the court and everyone can shoot, dribble, pass, and cut.

Denver has a fairly young team that was better condition wise than the Clippers too. LA didn't want to continue playing after the incident in Wisconsin. Joker was a 2nd round pick!

There's not one Bum azz coach left for good reasons. I suggest we chill with our expectations unless some believe KD or Kyrie on LBJ level.

All of this, AND the pair can opt out next off-season. Not 2022, they have player options for 2021. I expect them both to stay at least that 3rd season, but the worst case scenarios here are frightening.

Cautionary tale, and it's why I like the Spurs sustained model. Sometimes, it's better to keep getting jabs in then try to throw that one big haymaker.

Now in the Clippers defense, if they retain Leonard & George they should still have at least 3 years of prime basketball left in them.

Scary money don't make no money. Logo will find next Kerr and we'll see how things work out from there. Hot takes have me in :noway:

They were 3-1 up and made one the biggest choke jobs ever. Now KD has some argument vs Kawhi too.
It's all about coaching. Clippers never changed or adjusted, plain and simple. Tim broke it down few times on ESPN, also few Youtube guys showed how it was done.
