Combining some ideas I’ve seen in other threads:
Raptors Get: KD/Harris
Raptors Give: Siakam/Onunoby/‘25 First/‘27 First/‘29 First/‘24 Pick Swap/‘26 Pick Swap
Nets Get: Siakam/Onunoby/Jackson/Morris/Boston/Preston/‘25 First from TOR/‘27 First from TOR/‘29 First from TOR/‘24 Pick Swap from TOR/‘26 Pick Swap from TOR/‘28 First from LAC
Nets Give: KD/Kyrie/Harris
Clippers Get: Kyrie
Clippers Give: Jackson/Morris/Boston/Preston/‘28 First
This would give the Nets a way to compete right away while also stockpiling future picks. I think this is probably better than what the Lakers can offer with Westbrook for Kyrie and probably the best deal out there for KD based on what I’ve seen.
Simmons/Mills
Jackson/Curry
OG/O'Neale
Siakam/Morris
Claxton/Sharpe
Raptors Get: KD/Harris

Haha. What you mean Scotty Barnes isn't worth 10FRPs?
Raptors fans definitely are the biggest homers about their own players.

I think Bob Myers is mainly kicking the tires and it's not super serious. But I do think there are some discussions, because Draymond has been saying some bizarre stuff lately, almost as if he was trying to make up with KD like they'd be on the same team (the we don't win in 17/18 without KD stuff, etc.). I doubt that coming off of a championship we'd want to mess with the recipe unless it was robbery.
If we can fleece Marks then Bob will do it, but otherwise it's not happening... so it's not happening.

Assuming the Stein report is true, then that answers my question about how the Raptors view Barnes long term prospects.
If I had to rank the under 23 players in the league, I think Barnes would be lower down on the list, especially because he's limited offensively and it might take years before he is close to a legit 2 way player.
His ceiling is probably an elite #2 on a team, with a legit wing/combo guard who does most of the scoring. Makes sense why the Nets would be iffy about pairing him with Simmons as they might get in the way of each other on the floor.

a deal with masai will be a fair trade for both teams. i don't believe he will move 2 of scottie/pascal/og tho. he wants to build a dynasty but he also knows the value of having a superstar. for that reason, i don't believe he will gut the team for durant b/c the only avenue to add talent to that is hoping vets sign for the minimum or using the MLE. will be really interesting to see how this plays out. i don't believe a deal will get done but who knows.

Can I ask how much Barnes you watched? Because at no point did our board watch games and say "he's offensively limited". Quite often we were begging for Nurse to give him the ball more and make him the focal point.

It's interesting to see the *huge* discrepancy in what nets fans say Brooklyn is expecting from another team and what Raptors fans
are throwing out.
For example Nets fans are like- "yeah we'll consider Barnes, Siakem, OG and multiple picks and pick swaps"
Then Raptors fans are like- "let's hope Masai can get him for OG and Gary freaking trent jr" lol.....
The actual answer for what the price will be *if* KD is sent to toronto will obviously be somewhere in between.
I'll be frank with you guys. All this crap about the raptors getting him for OG and Trent and that's it are a pipe dream. Even if the nets end up being incredibly dissapointed with the actual market for Durant, they aren't going to do that deal. No way.
Gary Trent jr is not a bad basketball player, but he isn't the kind of guy that is considered a winning player or who is going to contribute to winning. Sure, like with most players, if you throw him about their for 35 minutes a game and he gets enough volume, he's going to be able to put up 15-20 ppg. But he's not an especially efficient player despite being ok when given open 3s, and his true shooting percentage(barring some major jump) is always going to be below average. So you have a maybe volume scorer(which is his only real attribute) on below average efficiency whose rate numbers on rebounds and assists(even given his role) is incredibly poor. He's just not considered a winning player, and everyone knows this. There is not one team out of 30 in the association who are going to see gary trent as a truly winning player who is a big asset.
Now OG is a little different because he at least has a defensive rep that is going to carry some weight with teams. But the idea that he is going to be the key piece in a KD deal is lunacy.
If KD is a member of the Raptors next year, then 1 of Scottie or Siakem won't be on the team next year. Now everyone is saying Masai views scottie as untouchable and not part of a KD package. I don't know if that's true or not, but if so then the 'Siakem + stuff' package is going to require more stuff than a 'Barnes + stuff'. If Siakem is the centerpiece rather than Barnes, I think both more picks and OG is likely to be included as well.
So all these meme picks where KD is photoshopped with a raptors jersey next to scottie and Pascal are just dumb. That's not reality. And I would say the same thing to Nets fans who are putting out a possible durantless lineup for their team that includes Pascal, Scottie, and then OG coming off the bench for them. That's not happening either.
It's just funny to see how in this trade scenarios how wildly divergent the packages in each forum are lol......

You've obviously watched more of him than I have but from the small sample size I've seen, he doesn't seem to be a naturally gifted isolation wing scorer in the half court. He seems more of someone that can score efficiently from the post and have a good mid-range game, kinda like a young Charles Barkley. He is kinda hard to fully compare him to anyone since he's kind of unique in some ways.
By your tone you tho, seem to think he can be a dynamic 2 way player like a Kawhi Leonard or to go to lower tier, a Paul George? (Not in terms of play style but impact)

I think part of barnes rep with some is that he **** the bed in the playoff series. Now raptor fans are going to say he was still hurt and thats why he looked so bad, and maybe thats true. But you have to consider is that is the only time many casual fans
actually saw Barnes play for the raptors, and what they saw was someone who was godawful offensively. Granted I'm sure raptor fans and nba pass type fans saw a different performance in the regular season perhaps.
But no, the average fan doesn't view Scottie Barnes as a finished offensive project or good two way player now. Maybe the average fan is an idiot and 100% wrong though.......

100%.
He came out of the gate shooting really well. Shocked all of us. Eventually it slipped throughout the season, probably a bit of fatigue. But we were told Barnes couldn't shoot at all, multiple times he was making step back fadeaways.
He was 15 ppg purely on his own merit. Nurse called almost nothing for him. When he was given the ball in the low block, he was money.
Sky is the limit for this kid. He's a gifted passer with good vision, great post scorer, good defensive player, crazy work ethic.
If you end up with him (and I really really really sure hope you don't), your board should celebrate.
Especially some sequences around the 3 minute mark.

if 3 days ago you said you would trade 4 unprotected frp's and 2 swaps for gobert, you would be laughed off the boards.
my point - nobody knows what the final deal is going to be. proclaiming this guy will be in it or that guy won't is a moot exercise.
coming up with trade ideas are fun but there is zero need for anyone to stick to their guns on it. this is all fluid and nobody knows where kd will end up or what the final deal will be.

My only hope is it makes little sense to be Barnes. We'd have to send so many other guys back in salary that we wouldn't keep a core that would be a championship contender.
