I get he's not Kawhi, but if you're going to blast Siakam about his playoffs performance, be prepared to get Russell's crappy showing thrown right back at you 10x over.

The difference between Siakam's playoffs vs Russell's playoffs isn't close.

What does Russell's playoff performance have to do with the myth that Pascal Siakam would be just fine as the Raptors #1 with Leonard not there being busted have to do with each other? If that's all that they have to fall back on, then that doesn't really help to disprove my point.

I'm not knocking Siakam as a player but dudes on the GB were literally trying to tell me that he was a legit #1 w/o Leonard. Anyone could see that while he's an excellent PF, he is not a #1 type talent.
If your basis on Siakam not being a #1 is this year's playoffs (in which he's still doing a better job than anyone not named Caris on our team), why wouldn't Russell's playoffs be their basis?

Well, because this has nothing to do with Russell. Russell was horrible from the field in the playoffs. I wouldn't dispute that.

I'm looking at the on/off numbers for TOR with Leonard and I'm recalling how Raptor fans were swearing that they were fine with Siakam as #1. This is looking like its false (through an albeit) small sample size. Russell or LeVert have nothing to do with the topic tbh.

If someone's answer to me disputing the assertion that Pascal Siakam is a #1 on a playoff team is to resort to whataboutism, they really don't have a counter argument.

Well given all the attention of Russell vs Siakam, I assumed that was the point on blasting Siakam.

Btw he really has played fine vs Philly (after a very nice showing vs Orlando).

It's Lowry, who many of us have called a fake all-star, that's really killing them

Oh yeah no doubt. Siakam is a stud man. Not a #1, but really good. He's not the issue, its Lowry.

That's what we DON'T want Russell to become, a dude that pisses himself in the playoffs.

Siakam thrives off the defensive coverage/attention that Kawhi gets. Not saying that he isn't a good player, he's easily the Raps' 2nd best player imo, but if he wasn't playing next to a top 3-5 player, it would be a lot more difficult for him.

Boston getting spanked on their home court is very satisfying. I never heard that building so quiet, you can hear a pin drop.

watching tonight, i definitely think that the Nets need to add a frontcourt scorer that can score 20 per.

i think Russell/LeVert/Dinwiddie are pretty much good enough to hang. we need to upgrade the forwards and centers

No shame in losing to them at all. Their talent level is unreal.

The Sixers gave them a good beating. I don't feel even remotely bad about how things went down at all for the Nets.

Same here. Winning at least a game actually made us look pretty good. A superstar away from being taken seriously.

And we were so close to taking 2 games. The optics would’ve been even better.

I had a fun time just now browsing their team subreddit. Pretty much an endless bunch of homers outraged over all the 'bogus' calls on Giannis. Zero self-awareness.

Looking ahead-- what if after all the free assets the Nets gifted the Celts through the years, they ultimately fail to make the finals with all that extra talent?

I think I'd be willing to handle that schadenfreude. :D

yea I hate that fan base with a passion, so entitled. And after all that showboating and talking ish to us because they owned our picks etc.. I can't wait to we surpass them and we will. Kyrie's leaving, they will sell everything and their mother for AD and he will leave the year after just like Kyrie did and then they will be back at square one  I'm going to troll the ish out of them they will definitely ban me off their page. And then these mods let them get away with murder but I call them Sucktics 1 time and they want to ban me smfh !

Embiid had his way against Nets. He has been a defensive presence still against TOR and a rim protector but he can't have his way against them bullying offensively. That one game out of the 4 he broke out, it was his outside shooting that forced Gasol to leave the post and get some drive-by opportunities that freed him. Against the nets he didn't even need to shoot.posting up babies instead.

Toronto took Philadelphia outside and **** ed them in the street tonight.

Sean Marks is insane if he doesn't add some additional size to this roster in July. You cannot win in a conference with TOR, MIL, PHI playing 6'7 guys versus 7 footers. We need bulk to go along with our shooters and north south drivers.

Definitely, those 3 teams have big men that will walk right thru ours. We have to find guys that can make it tough for Giannis, Siakam and Embiid/Simmons , easier said than done.

Yeah they need to be force fed protein and locked into the gym. Allen should be sleeping in the gym from June til August.

he also benefits from being surrounded by 4 elite shooters (lowry, kawhi, green, gasol is as good as it gets for a 4 man lineup).
