Clips of James Harden off the ball from last night.

Honestly with how Wall and Cousins look, Harden might as well stay. They aren't that bad.

  that first clip. He was not expecting that btb pass.

I'm still on board with wanting Harden. Not quite sure what the exact package would be, but I'm fine including multiple firsts. I think I'm finally over my BK PTSD.

I get the feeling that Harden is just going to go through the motions this season, either until he gets traded, or gets punched in the mouth (figuratively speaking) on the basketball court... then the competitor will come out again.

I'm sure we'll all be watching him from a distance this year. Not to say I'm not stoked to see this team at full strength with Caris and SPencer and everyone else. I just think that Harden makes you instantly title favorites for the foreseeable future.

Agreed with all this. It's really a win-win situation for the Nets.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30528130/james-harden-houston-rockets-breaking-point

THE HOUSTON ROCKETS' culture in the James Harden era, which bridges two owners and now four head coaches, might be best summed up by a former staffer's three words:

"Whatever James wants."

Unless they were on the front end of a back-to-back set, it was essentially a sure thing that the Rockets stayed overnight -- or even an extra day -- after games in Los Angeles, Phoenix and other road cities that rank among Harden's favorite stops.

If the Rockets had two or three days between games, it was a good bet Harden would call for an off day and charter a private jet to party in Las Vegas or another city. He always gets an excused absence from the first practice after the All-Star break for the same reason.

"Just James being James," those currently within the franchise say. But these circumstances are drastically different than at any previous point of the perennial All-Star's eight-year Houston tenure.

This article is not flattering for either James Harden or the Rockets.

Based on what is written here, I'm fine with the Nets passing on him. The part about how Westbrook got fed up was damning.

I agree. I'm off the Harden trade. The last thing this team needs is more drama. Kyrie and KD already suck up way too much media attention as is.

Dinwiddie, Levert, Allen are willing to accept their roles and our hard workers. I think this team is good to go as is. Tweaks can be made at the deadline.

It's understandable. A Harden trade is not completely risk-free for the Nets. I would still be open for a trade however. As I said before, I do believe either paths can work greatly if everyone is on the same page.

You can write an article about that for probably 30 of the top 40 players in the league, that would not deter me from acquiring him if I'm Sean Marks.

This Harden stuff is fair criticism but it's also way overblown. Just Houston media / staff getting ready for his exit. We've seen it with every star before.

If that's true, they're also sabotaging their own team by leaking such negative commentary.

Either way, I still don't really see how three ball-dominant players are supposed to coexist in the starting lineup. Even as is, there seems to be an existing challenge with getting someone like Joe Harris (or other shooters / ball-handlers) sufficient touches.

The commentary about Harden being useless when he doesn't have the ball isn't without merit, either. I've seen it enough times with my own eyes. Harden's almost legendarily productive as someone the offense runs through, but that's just not going to be possible here. So pretty much any team that doesn't run the offense through him is not going to be getting full value if they trade for him. Maybe even a *lot* less value. This is a real concern IMO.

Looks like Philly is making Simmons available. If true its only a matter of time. They can't get a better deal than that.

I wish Nets go for Tucker. This Harden Saga is done and that's fine. Team just missing some wing defense. Hope they trade something for that.

Tucker is 35 and wants a contract extension. No thanks. There are better options if need be.

This is almost certainly leaked by Houston’s front office.

There's not one team out there that will give up five first round picks and entire team just to get 31+ James Harden. Since when he became LBJ? Soon enough they face some real issues with Hardens value, every min working against them.

Morey also told Chris Paul that he wasn't going to trade him to OKC.

Morey is lying and he's now scrambling to keep the peace because a deal isn't finalized yet.
