Per NetsDaily....

Mannix: Brooklyn Nets "definitely" not interested in DeMarcus Cousins

Last January, after reports surfaced that DeMarcus Cousins wanted out of Sacramento, Chris Mannix tweeted that the Nets had made a call to the Kings about his availability. That was three suspensions ago and Monday, Mannix reports the Nets won't be among those teams looking to acquire the mercurial Cousins.

'Two teams that were interested in DeMarcus Cousins in the past--Nets and Rockets--not interested now. Nets definitely out, HOU very unlikely," Mannix tweets. Beyond the Nets, he adds, there is an "Oft echoed sentiment: If Kings want give DMC away for junk, we'll take him. But right now no one is interested in giving up real assets."

Trade Brook Lopez because he's the one good player on this team and I'm getting annoyed of watching a one-man show. #TankNation

Edit: Well Crash, too, but for the purpose of this sarcastic post I left him out.

What are the chances either team would do something like Iggy/Gallo/McGee for Lopez/JJ/Brooks?

I think there might be some legs with the whole Lopez for McGee+ angle, I don't think the Nuggets would swallow Johnson's contract though...

Oh and you really want to kill Deron Williams don't you? McGee + Blatche on the same team again

"They’re not smart, I don’t know," Williams said. "I’ve been watching. JaVale McGee (now with Denver) was on the Not So Top 10, like, 50 times this year,” Williams said.

Dude haha, I hate McGee, I figured swapping Lopez for him would be the only way they'd consider taking on JJ as well though. Also getting to dump Gallo who is a solid overall player but a little overrated and so insanely, incredibly inconsistent. Also, I feel like Iggy is gonna walk if they don't overpay the living piss out of him, so they nip that in the bud before it becomes an issue.

Gallinari has been disappointing in that his development seems to have flatlined, but I still don't see him as a player the Nuggets want to move right now, ditto for Iguodala (unless the Nuggets season heads south before the trade deadline).

Maybe there's a slim chance of Wilson Chandler returns, gets minutes, and makes Gallinari and Iguodala expendable, but I don't think that's a probable outcome...

I actually don't hate your McGee for Lopez swap though. As dumb as McGee is he can run the pick-and-roll, and I do think the team needs to get more athletic up front.

From a value standpoint I think McGee + Chandler (assuming he is healthy) + Magic Randolph (or Jordan Hamilton if the Nuggets have had enough of his buffoonery, which I admittedly don't think they have) for Lopez + Brooks seems like a Billy King move...

Obviously the Nets / I would like more, and I know I value Lopez more than most, but trying to be objective and think of how other teams value Lopez I think the above is pretty much what his trade value looks like :-(

I would only trade for Gallo after Avery is fired. The thought of ISO Gallo sends shivers down my spine.

I think that's an awful deal. McGee is an awful losing player. I truly believe by next year that he'll be considered one of the worst contracts in the league. I also think Lopez trade value is pretty high league wide and that it's just idiotic perception on sites like this by fans that you're talking about. Now I don't think Lopez trade value is super high, but I think it's still legit.

I wouldn't do that deal myself, it's just where I think his trade value stands and something I could very well see Billy King doing (okay I lied I really really really want Magic Randolph... Can you imagine Magic and Blatche on the court at the same time?)

It's kind of mind blowing how incredible McGee's advanced stats are when you watch him and his dumb play to standard play to smart play ration is all F'ed up.

And Magic Randolph man... you're killing me here lol, you want him, McGee and Blatche? Yikes!

I'd be all for a K-Love-Lopez swap/multi-team deal.

As would I.

No way to McGee, keep him away!!!

And I still say we need a quality 6th man.

Still not a fan of his, but looking at both team's salary pages I think if the Nets want him Cousins is theirs...

With some wiggling Cousins + Salmons + Hayes for Lopez + Brooks works financially...

Seeing as now the players are going to be marching to a new beat, I think it's safe to say we gotta wait to see how a new coach works in with these players.

There's going to be a breath of fresh air once the new coach comes in (hopefully by next week).

I'm really interested to see how much more playing time Marshon is going to get now.
