I'm officially fully on the Lance Stephenson bandwagon. We have nothing to lose at this point.

I cannot understand why I keep going to that other site thinking i'll see anything worthwhile... all the comments are how terrible Hollins is and how he's "mean" and "ruining everything" and the worst they have to say is that Lopez and Joe are just having off games...

I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but I've been watching almost every single game this season (expect for the terrible ones). Hollins is doing EVERYTHING that can be done with this roster to try and win, he's pulled every **** trick out there to re-trigger and re-inspire this team. I just cannot put much blame on him, his big minute players are either going to take over a game or lose it for them... if Lopez and Joe can't make something happen... we have to then put out KG and Anderson and hope they win us a game (both averaging around 7 ppg). our backup PG is Darius, our backup PF is CJ, our 2 guard spot is filled with people who have talent that won't be ready for another year or so. The only bright spot in Plumlee and he still has a lot to work on to be the star of a team. What can Hollins do?! go small? we lose... go big? we lose... run the P&R? no-one can do it consistently, so we lose... go zone? we lose... go man-to-man? we have losers on D who give up lay-up after lay-up...

I'm just so depleted, at this point i'd easily just say give all the keys to Hollins... He didn't get lucky in Memphis, he wasn't handed All-stars... he knows what it means to compete... NONE OF THESE **** ON THE TEAM HAVE ANY IDEA... if our players aren't buying in that's their fault

I just can't stand this **** storm anymore

Charlotte gets: J Lamb, J Jack
Charlotte gives: Lance Stephenson, B Roberts, cash

Charlotte does it to get rid of Lance.

OKC gets: Lopez, B Roberts, A Anderson
OKC gives: Reggie Jackson, J Lamb, Perkins, Morrow

OKC is trying not to up their deal but I think they will by the trade deadline. Reggie is likely to be moved because they arent going to resign him. They want Lopez for their playoff run. They have gone as far as they can without having someone who can score in the post.

Nets get: Lance Stephenson, Reggie Jackson, A Morrow, Perkins, cash from Charlotte
Nets give: Lopez, J Jack, A Anderson

Nets want to trade Lopez and Lance is the best they can do. Eventually Billy King will come to his senses and take him. Reggie replaces Jack as the backup PG and serves as an expiring if the Nets choose to move on from him. Im not a Morrow fan but the Nets need a 3pt shooter. Perkins is straight salary dump. All in all, the Nets take on about a million dollars in extra salary that Charlotte offsets with cash they send. Next year the Nets save close to 11 mil in salary. I also think it would allow them to do sign and trades. If so they can sign and trade Reggie to whichever team wants him.

I would kill to do this deal. It would completely change the dynamic of this team for this season and offers promise for future years. This is the best thing possible out of all realistic offers we've heard about.

Damn so many threads to discuss things in - i can never find the right one. But yea we need to add wing depth and need a pf to replace Mirza. It makes sense, we get younger. I have no issue with the trade. It does suck though that King always sell low. A month ago we definitely could've squeezed out more with Charlotte struggling more, Joe playing better. But leave it to Billy King to start discussion after Joe announces he's been battling with tendonitis.

That is the best offer we are going to get for Joe.

Deron/Jack
Stephenson/Karasev or Bogey
Henderson/Anderson
KG/Williams
Plumlee/Lopez

- We save money
- Add two athletic wing guards
- Get Younger

I swear to god if King rejects this deal, I will find him and hurt him. We can actually build an identity with Stephenson and Henderson here and possibly Thad Young in the Lopez deal.

If the Nets can add Lance, AND get Marvin Williams, who's similar to Mirza in role, it's a win. Hell, it'd be nice to have a big contract who isn't in his thirties(Lopez is 55+ at heart). I mean, I'm kinda on board for that reason alone.

Yes please to the latest Woj trade report. Get Joe Johnson off this team. Brook can be traded to other teams, Joe Johnson really can't be.

Things are so bad I don't care who gets traded at this point.

We've got the worst outlook of all 30 NBA teams.

Get something done...anything.

lol this is how I feel, so apathetic. I think it will make us better as it better balances the roster, but I really don't think it moves the needle much at all. Williams and Henderson are both having poor seasons, are bad contracts. Lance is a wildcard, but a chance we should take.

Williams and Henderson are stop gaps between here and 2016 that will provide depth. There's really no one on this roster that is clearly an integral part of the future. Plumlee is the only one i want here past 2016 looking at the current roster and the prospective one after this trade and maybe Lance if he gets his head on straight. That's a big if. So it's worth it to take the risk with Lance because if it blows up we're in the same terrible situation.

The future is so bleak, if it does blow up, next season will be a lot worse than this one.

Things are so horrible, what could possibly king use to prevent this???

Although with news of jj's current injury, I wonder if it could get done regardless

Woj: Nets/Hornets restart trade talks for Joe Johnson for Stephenson, Henders...

Post#532 » by Zachbretton » Mon Jan 26, 2015 2:54 am

I'm a Joe Johnson lover, he's been my favorite Net since our Brooklyn... But if this trade is possible, I'd take it in a second.

I wish we could dish Lopez for this package but if it's Joe or no... I say take it, that's the kind of trade that allows us to move back into the playoffs

I would assume that means Lawson, Afflalo, Faried and Nurkic are untouchable. So, that should mean we could select Gallinari, Harris, Chandler and Hickson out of that mix. I would love to see Gallinari here although Chandler is a bit more realistic.

Chandler makes the most sense in a Denver trade since we need to sure up the SF spot if we trade JJ

I like a line up of:

Dwill/Lance/Chandler/KG/Plumlee

I think that could really kill, especially under Hollins. Lots of Grit and intensity and athleticism

That my guess for core players as well...

Galli or Chandler would be excellent for us imo

If you tell me that we can get Lance, Henderson, M. Williams, McGee, and Wilson Chandler in here I'd say that our season is saved.

IMO, I make the trade with the hornets, and then give lopez to denver

Plumlee/McGee/Jordan
KG/M. Williams/CJ
Chandler/Bojan
Lance/Henderson/Karasev/Brown
Deron/Jack/Morris

Addition by subtraction. Instead of having two players sucking the life out of the cap, we can have depth and have a team with guys that Hollins can coach.

This trade also keeps us afloat for next year as well.

I would hope this happens. We don't need Joe or Lopez, we need a team that will play hard and has some depth.

If Lance gets locked up, implodes, explodes, I don't care. Taking that gamble is better than staying pay with Johnson and Lopez sucking dog balls!!!

I would ride with that team. Lance can run point swingman and allow for Deron to get some good looks off of the ball. Chandler is a gritty player.

I want guys that will allow Hollins to coach them, and guys that will play hard.

Get the quitters out of here. I'll deal with Deron but everyone else has to go

Brook to Denver would need to require Wilson Chandler or Afflalo coming this way. If we would have Lance, then Afflalo wouldn't make much sense. So it would have to be Wilson Chandler. McGee would be involved to match salaries, but McGee is injury prone as hell so can't really expect productivity out of him. I would expect Denver to throw in a second rounder in there; they have a ton of picks anyway.
