so are the nets really going to go with thomas robinson, karasev, and rondae as backup bigs?
since bargs cant even practice or get in a game, reed is out until at least december, and mccullough is out until january.

No matter what our thoughts on Bargs, remember how the other site reported that Bargs contacted the Nets first and yet later we find out that Billy King was the one who actually contacted him.

This is your management Nets fans. SMH.

I was on board with it but now it's a waste of roster spot if he can't even participate in preseason. We will virtually have no backup for Brook once the roster is trimmed to 15.

Its to a point now where why even get upset at the players or the coach if this team is horrific this year? They aren't responsible for this garbage

can nets put guys on this list while adding guys until they return?

Due to abuses in the use of the injured reserve list, where some teams found it convenient to use the IR to stash players without independent medical oversight, the injured reserve has been renamed the Inactive List with the last collective bargaining agreement. Starting in the 2005–06 season, players can enter the inactive list one hour before tip-off for as little as one game. The inactive list has a minimum of one player and a maximum of three, subject to hardship rules when a team with three injured players already on its inactive list has a fourth player injured. Players sent to the NBA Development League will continue to count on a team's inactive list

Over the last few months, I haven't been posting anywhere near the rate that I have in the past. This is primarily due to other responsibilities just consuming my life.

However, for the little bit of time that I squeeze in to come back I often find myself with nothing to comment on.

When I felt like the team had a chance to be good, posting about them felt rewarding even though no one is paying me to do it and I could be using my time to do more productive things.

But now? No way.

My constant issue with JJ, Lopez, and D-Will was that you could never count on their production and star level effort on a nightly basis.

People have their different opinions on Joe Johnson but he never met my expectations. We got a guy at 32 years old who was bound to decline due injuries, age, or both. There's never been a regular season where I felt JJ put together a good, long run.
Yeah, he had a good 2014 playoff run but he was absolutely dreadful in the 2013 playoffs here due to foot problems and he was just a shadow out there in 2015. One great individual postseason run doesn't best out 3 average regular seasons, 1 horrific postseason and another average postseason.

I don't know what everyone's definition of a star is but I've never felt like JJ was a true star here. He has/had the ability but he never sought to dominate in the regular season and the other two postseason we didn't get that much out of him.

I could write even more about D-Will, Brook Lopez, and my frustrations with them but I'll spare everyone the whining lol.

And yet despite the flaws of these players, I don't blame them anywhere near as much as I blame Billy King. He had a mountain of quality assets and he burned through them like he was having a firesale.

There's no need to rehash the Wallace trade, the Wallace contract, the KG & Pierce deal where King said we had to include an extra 1st rd pick just to dump Wallace on them, the JJ trade pick swaps, the refusal to sign or re-sign talented players because of "character" issues when it just leaves your team considerably worse. King signed off on the Lopez deal for Reggie Jackson, which basically showed that he thought he wasn't valuable, then 3 months later he gives Lopez a 3yr/$60mil contract and talking about how Brook is the core of the team.

If it hasn't been clear to people before, it should be very clear now.

Billy King has no idea of how to assemble a good basketball team.

Every year there's always some BS spin given to the fanbase about why we failed to meet expectations the previous year and that we'll be better next year, and yet somehow we get worse the following year and the spin comes right back!!

Look at the roster King has assembled. They were seriously trying to feed us the crap that Jarrett Jack would be an awesome PG/ball distributor and JJ is somehow going to turn back the clock now that D-Will is gone. It's all lies, smoke, and BS.

On paper, this team sucks. The Nets are one Brook Lopez foot injury away from gifting Boston a top-4 pick this upcoming offseason and having no true backup for Brook.

They're trying to sell the fans on a team for which the majority of players are reclamation projects. I can understand buying low on two players and hoping they turn out great but when you have 6+ journeymen who have been shuffled around the league many times, you should know you're in trouble.

This will be a long season and long 2016 offseason. King has never taken advantage of another team. He's only been the one taken advantage of. We've been calling for his head since the day he traded for Gerald Wallace nearly 5 years ago (almost half a friggin decade) and yet he's still hear.

I'm on that last of the 5 stages of death with this team. I'm so beyond anger that I've shifted to acceptance. This team is what it is and it can't improve until it starts to get more assets and King is restricted from coming within a 1000 miles of the front office. Until then you might as well pick up a new hobby because the dark days are just getting started.

The thing I never understood the entire time is why the fck do you give him a player option for the 2nd year?

He wants to stay in NYC - no one wants him besides Sacramento that doesn't need him as much. He's get less minutes there. Who were bidding against. Why did we need to give him a 2nd year?

The same reason why King included pick swaps in the JJ deal.

He needs to let the other party know that they have won the deal.

bargnani looked great since he just got back , 17 and 7, had a few bargs play but looked pretty solid on d at times and much more than i expected since he missed all of preseason games and was injured

bargs 17 and 7 was impressive , had his moments and not too much bad bargs , not bad for a debut considering he missed all of preseason

17/7 is quality coming off the bench. From what i'm gathering, not too much Bargs plays aka wtf sequences. I did see an airball in the brief viewing I had.

So how do we spin this as a neg?

Bargs had some gaffes but he was aggressive out there.

If this is what he can give off the bench, I'm ok. He made some bad plays to begin, but settled in and did the only things he's good at. Had good energy and hit good shots.

If we limit his presence, he can be useful

this bench role seems much better, less pressure and he can score against backups when he has advantage on offense most times
