I def think the Nets can beat out the field but it would require more moving parts. Some options:
1: Make it a 3 team deal to trade away Ben (ex: Spurs who have no blue chip talent) and give Raptors everything + Poeltl.
2: Obtain another 1st by trading Royce/DFS/Din/Cam to another team and then offer Raps 4 FRPs/swaps + salary filler (Joe, Seth etc)
3: Trade Clax and Cam, both of whom have sky high value right now. We know Raps like Clax from last season and Cam is a young guard that matches Barnes timeline better and fits well with him.

I would love to keep Clax but I can see a scenario where he will have to be sacrificed to get Siakim.

Siakam is nice, but a less than ideal fit. If, not saying I would, you're trading Claxton in a deal for Siakam, you're not giving up much else.

That beings said, the Raptors are likely looking to tank hard if they start moving players. They're currently tied for the 6th worst record in the league. They'll prioritize picks and cost controlled rookie deals, not players that can immediately contribute to winning.

Was thinking about Dame and Beal but those contracts look rough right now and could get ugly real quick

I think DeRozan would be the best fit and could be gettable depending on how the Bulls want to move forward.

I think trading Clax is a non-starter for me. He is basically our entire defense. We frankly need him to guard Embiid/Giannis etc,

I would trade all the other stuff though for Siakim if need be.

3 first rounders, Cam, Sharpe, flip Seth/Joe/DFS for another first rounder.

Dinwiddie/Royce/KD/Siakim/Claxton

That basically puts you in business.

I'm surprised that Beal is not being discussed at all.

Are the Wizards really this committed to this garbage team?

What if the Nets offered 3 first rounders, Cam, another FRP through trade and Simmons?

Still not worth it?

I see it more as doing right for KD if a trade to Boston.

Purge Brown & Smart the very least... with their 1sts.....

I don't really care about doing right for KD.

I just think Brown is a high level all star. I think you pair him with Claxton. Give Simmons time to get right.

You could have an exciting young team.

This Durant with role players team looks headed for another trade request very soon.

1) Stephen A doesn't have any sources
2) Why would Boston blow up their Tatum-Brown duo for an aging KD? They're already the favorites.

Yeah he would be the best player they can get by far. Probably keeps them at least a play in team as well so we don't gift Houston a dynasty lol.

if KD wants out im fine with either the suns or celtics offers around bridges/brown and tons of picks. more spare parts are better, sure, but generally speaking either is a good foundation to build on.

dinwiddie
oneal
brown or bridges
simmons
clax

is a fringe playoff team and probably fun to watch. with a ton of picks. and some interesting depth with cam/dfs/harris.

you can keep simmons or not. without kd there's no reason to sell low, but it's also fine if they want to start DFS and just fully embrace the junkyard dog style a la boston. especially if smart is part of the deal.

We need a high level scorer for sure.... Dinwiddie can't be your 2nd best scorer on a championship team.... not fair to him nor to KD.

Gotta find that scorer, whether be 3pt marksmen or on the dribble type.

He’s got some left. He’s going to hit mid range and some threes but he’s bad rotating on D.

He sets good hard screens and likely will start a fight lol

Lol, the last part is my mental association with the word "Morris".

Thanks to everyone that replied!

Please tell me you were hacked by a Lakers fan. That is an awful return. It's known that Phoenix can and would offer more.

Ayton and and Jae Crowder or two unprotected Lakers firsts?

I'm skeptical about the Jaylen Brown - KD thing at the deadline, but if true, I call around and ask what a third team might offer for him. I don't love the idea of trading for a guy that has no financial incentive to extend ahead of a FA period where there should be quite a few teams with cap space. I'd consider going full rebuild if KD is moved.

The more i think about it the more i think it's time to pull the plug on KD. We can't risk holding onto him past the deadline. The time is now. Trade him in season to the highest bidder

there is no KD deal without Bridges or Brown included. or a Miami deal without Bam (and Simmons going elsewhere).

KD is almost healthy and was again playing at an MVP level. a trade to any of those 3 teams dramatically improves championship odds and now with Curry hurt there's a wide open field.

nets will simply not deal KD if the offers aren't dramatically better (by like 10x) than the offer they TURNED DOWN for kyrie as a rental.

question,

there's twitter rumors about Spencer possibly be a trade chip for another team by the deadline. So does that mean, if true, he can't suit up and play with us before then? or he has to play at least gm? or something like that?

It echos Rasheed Wallace back in the day, when he went from Portland to ATL to Detroit.
