He's an intriguing name, for sure.

I never believed the rumors of a buyout, with so much money sitting on the table next year. It seems the rumors are coming to fruition, Blake is walking away from a suitable chunk of money just to be in a better situation.

He's playing like a shell of himself. The right team could gamble, and see if that's merely motivation, he might have a Batum resurgence in a winning organization with a defined role. I don't know that we have such a role for him.

At the 4, Griffin adds playmaking and a bit of shooting, but his exceptional athleticism is gone. From a run/jump standpoint, he's just a guy now. He also can't switch effectively.

For our needs, I would put Rondae higher in priority. But Blake is worth a look, and some team may unearth a diamond.

The question is is he a shell of himself or was he going through the motions the fact that they sent him home indicates he might have been going through the motions

Honestly, I don't know if adding anyone is worth it right now. Everyone is a positive contributor, adding someone just means less playing time for someone that's playing well.

And Claxton has basically been a revelation. He's playing really, really well and looks to be a missing piece for our defense. He's athletic, can switch onto anyone, blocks shots. I love his game, I think him and DJ can hold down the C position, and we can small ball other teams to death.

Don't think we need to look into adding lumbering big men like Aldridge just because that's what people have traditionally thought was necessary. Like, PJ Tucker is available via trade, and I'm wondering...do we even really need him? Whose minutes get cut if he plays? Brown? Claxton? Green? Griffin? Is he actually better than any of them right now? I mean, he's 35, undersized, and his 3pt percentage has tailed off big time. Sure, he's playing for the Rockets, so not much motivation there, but I mean that's the same logic we're using for Griffin too. Brown is essentially Tucker but does his job better right now imo.

Don’t you think we need more vets for this year? The only vet I really trust in the playoffs outside of the big 3 is Jeff Green. Bruce Brown and Claxton as exciting and good as they have been - they might make crucial mistakes in crucial games in the playoffs which we can’t afford especially given Durant’s health. I think Tucker would be a really nice addition.

PJ Tucker would bring a vet presence into the playoffs but more importantly he was the heart and soul of the Rockets defense and is a glue guy - that's something players say never shows up in stats. Increased scoring is not really what we need, more important to focus on protecting what lead we have at the end of 4th quarters. We have Durant that can go get those buckets but stops at the end is what will win games. He can still hit wide open 3's from the corner, I think he is just going through the motions at this point on the Rockets.

Similar to Blake I wouldn't mind bringing PJ in... But he looks somewhat washed... Now is that partly because he's playing on a team with no direction and is disinterested? Who knows...

LOAD UP.

100% behind PJ Tucker if we can make it happen.

I'm fine with adding Drummond, RHJ, PJ, or LMA, if they agree to buyouts and come for the vet's minimum. I'm not all that high on trades, we're so stacked already and no difference makers seem to be available for the assets we're willing to send.

Would you guys be interested in JJ Reddick?

Its looking like he might get bought out. Wouldn't be a bad thing to add another elite shooter.

Also hes probably dying to come here so he can live in his apartment in Brooklyn.

I wouldn't throw a fit. It's highly likely that our remaining 2 roster spots are not regular rotation players.

That said, I feel like he's the last thing we need. His advanced stats have tanked as well, a common trait for vets in their last leg that signifies when they've fallen off more than the raw numbers would suggest.

It might not make much difference, but I would really love to see us sign a couple of junkyard dogs. Roberson and Shumpert are the archetype, but neither offer much anymore. Rondae is my ideal. If nothing else, a couple of those dudes would intensify practices, and perhaps there is some transitive property or osmosis that can benefit our main guys.

Reddick is on a terrible team and isn't really motivated. I wouldn't look too much into numbers.

I'm frankly done with the Roberson/Shumpert types. They're useless if were playing 4 on 5 offensively.

At least Reddick can be used for spot up minutes to provide a huge shooting threat on the floor and make some big shots.

In today's league shooting is at a premium. I don't mind JJ Reddick at all, assuming he's still got something in the tank of course.

Sucks that Ariza is off the table, I think he would have been a great get for us off a potential buyout but Heat were willing.

JJ isn't done btw, he got off to a horrible shooting start this season (like Shamet), but has been on fire since February, returning to his usual super efficient self.

Ariza is gone, not sure how much he has left though, he hasn't played in quite a while.

PJ Tucker to Milwaukee, Torrey Craig to Phoenix.

We’re losing options fast.

With TJ Tucker and Arizona gone there is no defensive wing on the market that I want.

I still think Reddick is the best option. But I don't feel like we need anyone else tbh. Our team is perfect as s.

I still want McGee or Dedmon. if DJ got hurt or was in foul trouble in the playoffs we would be relying on big center minutes from:

- a virtual rooke in claxton
- a 6'8" forward in green
- a Broken down non-shot blocker in Griffin

It could low-key cause us some issues.
