After watching last night, I'm convinced that we could probably do the following trade:

Brook + lower of our 1sts for Drummond + their 1st.

The benefit is that we get younger and more athletic plus get a much better pick.

Of course Brook is better than Drummond, but Drummond is no where near his prime and is still learning. He very easily can become Dwight with proper coaching. Drummond would make an amazing PnR partner for Lin

No KCP is my fav player but he deserves more than playing with teammates with no heart. I would rather see him as a main option here, he takes wayyyy too few shots in our offense it's not fair to him.

KCP finished with 4 shots in 30 minutes.

I think you have factor in how toxic it seems that team is with Reggie Jackson/Drummond/SVG. KCP is currently an effective catch and shoot player who sometimes gets the ball.

Still not a max guy but capable of a significant leap in a different system and different locker room.

I could definitely see him signing an offer sheet based off our culture right now compared to what's going in Detroit. Same goes for Mirotic in Chicago. He's going to be looking for a significant role, in a free flowing system (the Bulls are a slow team) and a player friendly organization.

I could see Andre Roberson as another guy who could be interested in an offer sheet due to player development. Guys are coming in and improving their jumpshot. RFAs will take notice.

based on SKILL and FIT alone, who would you guys rather see next year in Brooklyn, George Hill or KCP?

Hill fits what Kenny wants with the two PG backcourt, but KCP and LeVert give us an excellent and young two way wing combo

I just said something along these lines in another post, but can you imagine BEST CASE scenario with these guys growing, meshing, and playing together? Lin, KCP, Levert, Lopez.... each one of these guys could explode for 20 points a night (again, giving benefit to levert considering what he's show us this year, I think he's special). Then Mix in RHJ with his athleticism to help on the defensive/rebounding end. That could be a team with very high upside and very fun to watch. And our bench is already one of the best in the league but could use some refining.

If we did make a go at KCP then I think we would need to spend money wisely on a smart and proven PG... Hill would be too much, but maybe Teague or Teodosic. I realize though Teague would be looking for a lot of money but probably not as much as Hill. You can't undersell the value of the PG in Kenny's system too... obviously how painful it's been without Lin.

Then we would be able to use the draft stock this year to acquire defensive bigs.

KCP.

KCP/CLV could develop into a quality duo in 3-4 Years and KCP will only be 27/28. Hill would be 34.

Exactly my thinking, KCP is the better fit, younger and higher ceiling. Plus having him and LeVert on the wings could be a killer 2 way duo that tears other teams up. Plus with how offenses are moving, having 2 wing defenders to block out shooters is key, especially in our free flowing system that gets up and down.

I think we can make a swing at KCP and still have money to make a pickup like Roberson, Mirotic or another upside player

Detroit will match to keep KCP SVG loves him but he would replace Foye in the starting lineup (I'd still keep Foye on the team)
Mirotic would replace Justin Hamilton.

Maxing KCP is insane. So an Allen Crabbe type of deal? 3+1 final year player option at 72 mil, 15% trade kicker poison pill?

KCP seems like he would be a great fit here based on what I'm reading from Pistons fans.

If Marks and Kenny believe this is the way to go, so be it. He will have to grow into the contract. Would it be far fetched to see him increase his scoring output while maintaining a good % from downtown?

Have to overpay significantly to get any RFA. If the price is close to being reasonable, no reason why their current team won't match.

Thinking about next season....

Keepers:

Lin/Din/Goodwin
IW/Harris
CL/KJ
RHJ/ACY
Lopez/

We definitely need another guard who can be a play PG/SG but also be a playmaker. Plus a couple of bigs would not hurt. No backup for Lopez.
