i never said DJ was good at any of those things. I said he was better then LMA at them, which he is. and other then rebounding he is by a pretty large margin.

Motivation is irrelevant. LMA is beyond washed. He is the type of guy a team like miami, who has a ton of D but little offense creation needs to space the floor and can cover his shortcomings.

for the nets, its a block move. he should really never play. I know i came hard at blake, but he makes blake look like prime wilt

I'll reserve my judgement till he comes here motivated and adjusts his play style.

How many times have we heard this about guys. Look at Dwight Howard for example.

What adjustments? he posts up and shoots threes. there is nothing to adjust.

being motivated doesnt make you somehow 10 years younger. he has been washed for a few years now. motivation has nothing to do with it. he is old and broken down and was never good on D to begin with

Yeah exactly YOU don't want him to play. You always assume the Brooklyn Nets will always think the way you do.

Objectively I am telling you we wouldn't push so hard to sign him here over other teams if hes not getting minutes.

Whether you think its the right move or not.

Harden/Brown
Irving/Shamet
Harris/Green
Durant/Blake
Aldridge/Claxton

I think Geeen, despite his size, is more comfortable at PF

On the flip side, I think Durant is more comfortable at SF

I would probably flip those two and flip the Centers:

Harden/Shamet
Kyrie/Brown
Durant/Harris
Green/Blake
Claxton/Aldridge

What hard pushing did we do? het got the minimum to get a championship ring.

you said yourself in the other thread "why would he sign him" pointing out everything im saying here. he is washed, cant move, awful on D, and stuck behind 3 or 4 guys.

I dont want anyone who is awful and should be retired to play for my team. being on the roster? sure. but he isnt going to take someones minutes here. maybe play some with Kyrie/KD out cause we need warm bodies but beyond that,... no

Someone saying we should start aldridge is a new all-time low for this board.

6 extra fouls, a big body to help build a wall, can give you 10 quick points in a hurry and provides spacing from 5 spot

What's not to like? He's got weaknesses but it's the coaching staffs job to make sure he's not out at the 3 point line chasing guards around

Lol he is not guarding embiid. he may not be able to lockdown reggie perry in practice

Lol if he couldn't lockdown Reggie Perry in practice that would be good thing for us then

He's not gonna shut Embiid down obviously but he's brawny enough to bang in the post and tall and long enough not to give him free looks. We aren't playing Jeff Green or KD on Embiid no way.

I think there's a solid possibility that we'll ultimately see DJ out of the rotation. LMA wouldn't sign here if he wasn't getting minutes. We've already seen Nash going with Claxton over DJ for closing lineups. Harden admonishing DJ has become a regular feature of our games lately. Woj actually said that DJ's minutes may be impacted by LMA arrival, and we know that Woj doesn't speculate.

"Aldridge is expected to play a majority of his minutes at the center position. His arrival could impact playing time for center DeAndre Jordan. Second-year forward Nic Claxton has been impressive on the frontline recently, too."

I love it. And I don't think the Aldridge signing is that big of a deal, but whatever makes these other fans who talked **** about the Nets, about KD, Kyrie, Harden etc suffer I am all for.

yeah i mean i dont get it either. id expect this kind of hate after we got harden. but people are upset we are getting washed corpses and washed up bums like blake/aldridge like its 2009 or something?

This is what I'm saying...they act like we signed these guys at their peak. Blake is a shell of his former self. Aldridge is 36. These casuals are upset over the names and not the actual reality of what these guys are capable of. It's hilarious, silly, and it shows you how uneducated a majority of the Fandom is.

A lot of these clowns need to take a deep dive on basketball reference into Aldridge and Griffin's metrics and calm the **** down.

I would of much rather Dieng honestly but I guess it keeps LMA from signing with the HEAT and whoever else.

Would've preferred a wing but if Aldridge is willng to accept a limited role, he can help. He should be the 3rd or 4th center - but honestly, DJ has been scary recently. Won't hurt to have a center that can shoot.

The real issue is that signing Blake and LMA makes it difficult for any coach to juggle. Claxton needs to play as much as possible. Green has been great this year. KD needs to play. That leaves only so many minutes at the 4/5 for 3 vets.

He’s a quality depth piece which is especially important in a season like this one. He’s right after Drummond on the list and we got him. I think he is a better fit for us but Drummond is younger and more durable for a team needing much bigger minute loads and carries less risk in that context. You can’t underestimate motivation.I bet we see Blake really step it up as the year progresses and that’s going to be a serious thorn to the haters. I love it.

Deandre on his good days is still a better fit with the starting lineup I think, however I can't see Nash playing him over LMA in the 4th when we go big.

His shooting is just too valuable You can't hack LMA for one as a strategy for one, can't even actually even leave him open. Nasty midrange shot too. He's so versatile scoring the ball that he'll allow us to destroy zones and gimmick defenses

Aldridge is here to get a ring. if he wanted minutes there were a half dozen better options.

LMA is cooked. should have retired in 2019

new rules prevent hack-a-anyone

Claxton needs to be closing games. not LMA.

No **** he's here to get a ring. That doesn't mean that he isn't expecting to play. DJ is cooked too and offensively, what LMA brings is of greater value than DJ. Both of them don't move well defensively and I don't think there's a significant gap there at all.

its not difficult.

claxton plays 28+ monutes and closes games.

DJ plays 10 minutes or more if he isnt awful

Blake/Green play if small ball seems to be advantageous given the matchup

LMA. never plays
