ouch on ellington. i was hoping on him to replace shamet. him going to LA stings. ellington/ariza to me is bigger for the lakers then westbrick

Unless Ariza just wasn’t trying when I saw him this past season, he looks done.

Ellington is good on paper, but I haven’t been following him of late. As he as good as he was when he was with us?

Ellington doesnt seem to age. dude is a baller for life. he still moves well and drills shots off balance with 9 hands in his face. he tied his career high for 3-point percentage at 42%, with 5 more attempts per game then the prior time he hit 42%

Ariza did look cooked to me too. but lakers needed shooting as bad as anyone in the league

Mills is a very capable ball handler with high IQ. Doesn’t turn the ball over. Solid shooter and above all is a fierce competitor. Exactly the backup guard we need. Getting him would be huge. I actually think he is a good defender. .

Sixers are waiving George Hill. Another interesting option.

And he turned down a 2 year deal from the Warriors. But he also has history with the Lakers and they seem to have a larger role planned for him so it makes sense he would sign with them. Still sucks to see all these 3 and D guys signing else where while we haven't really done much to address our need for bigger more athletic defenders.

Thanks! Agree with the high IQ part and experience. Being part of the Spurs organization also helps.

I'm holding out for Redick and either Iguodala, or Gay. I understand that Marks has a Spurs connection, and both Mills and Forbes. They are both quality bench guards who can shoot. Neither have the size or defensive fundamentals to check 2's, so they can't play with Kai. JJ is not a lockdown dude either, but he can at least provide some resistance.

Honestly, I would prefer both Andrew and Rudy and skip adding another undersized SG, but with our organization it seems inevitable. We just can't fail to get at least one versatile defensive veteran. Iggy is tight with KD, and Rudy and Kevin both grew up in the DMV. Gay can slide up to the 4 and stretch the floor, he makes more sense to replace Uncle Jeffy. But Andre gives us another short-roll playmaker, a facet of our offense that no one could stop.

I think everyone needs to realize that Marks might be restricted on how much he can spend by the owner. They are heavy in tx territory. Any amount is not just the salary cost.

We have 9 guys under contract, plus at least 3 rookies that will make the team. Plus, we're likely to get at least one player back via the Dinwiddie S&T. No need to panic. The roster is mostly set.

This is how I feel.

If anyone feels antsy, go watch the footage of Kevin Durant destroying the Spaniards this morning. There's a reason why teams like the Lakers and Heat are trying to load up.

while it may have been a far-fetched option, I was really hoping for kelly olynyk, somehow. He’s gunna help the pistons stretch the floor at the 5. always felt like that is something this roster desperately needed, in addition to a rim protector.

now with the news of spencer landing with the wizards, fingers are crossed that marks is working on a s&t and that pacers will be shipping myles turner to brooklyn. highly unlikely, but this is what I am holding out for. not really sweating the lack of action on the nets front. I am trusting marks to make some kind of splash!!
OKC Thunder fan, too.
