Like, I think Jason Kidd is a disgusting human being, but he absolutely is one of the league's 75 greatest players of all time.

You (and most Nets fans IMO) are out of your damn minds with the Kidd hate, but I agree with the rest of the above...

Kidd is a terrible human. there is 0 debate on that.... domestic abuse, multiple DUI's one resulting in a horrific crash. spitting on security guards, etc...

I'm generally (actually almost universally) on womens' side in such situations, but IIRC, Kidd did little more than throw a plate of food at Juanita, then immediately paid to the hilt via police domestic report, long mandatory counselling, and a life-long label as a 'wife-beater.'

Meanwhile, do you remember NI's reports about Juanita's behind the scenes shenanigans, because from the evidence, she sounded like a borderline psychopath to me... one whose career also and immediately disappeared once the separation / divorce happened. And yes, that could be interpreted multiple ways there, Jason, but as the sayings go, usually cream rises to the top, and where there's smoke, there's fire. Those are never automatics of course, but at the same time, there were no winners there AFAIK.

Also, I'm assuming you've completely run out of self-righteous ammunition when you talk about 'Kidd spitting on security,' so... heh?

That said, all this stuff (so far as I understand it) kinda pales in comparison to the DUI stuff, IMO. Which also becomes a pretty terrible indictment of how many states in the USA treat this stuff so lightly. So was Kidd indeed busted x2 for DUI!? If so, the f-cker should never drive again IMO... or at least something close to that severity-penalty, I think.

Lastly, Proky, dude-- I thought I'd indicated PRETTY CLEARLY that I'm not really interested at this time in doing a knock-down slobberknocker on Jason Kidd. However, *sigh* if that REALLY ignites you, then at least start a discrete thread, please?

In that case, thank you.

FFS, really?

Damn. So little "TJ," was it? Remember him on the sidelines during and after those glorious Nets - finals seasons? (usually his dad holding him)

Btw @Prokorov,
I done doofed it up above, mixing up "Juanita" and "Joumana." Whoops.
Kidd's not Jordan, and reverse. :S

kidd spit food at her, then he hit her in the face:

"Jason then turns towards Mrs. Kidd and spits the french fry at Mrs. Kidd, striking her in the face,” the police report said. “Mrs. Kidd turns away from Jason. Jason then strikes Mrs. Kidd in the face while holding a container of yogurt in his hand"

guy is an absolute d-bag. and shame on you for trying to paint it as ok that he abused his wife because she was ... trying to ride his coat tails to media fame? or a"psychopath". none of that allows you to strike a women

kid is a low life. always was, always will be. human filth,

And you are way... WAY OUT OF LINE for saying that, dude.

Jason Kidd may indeed be a horrible person, and I may indeed be weirdly curious about the hows and whys of all that, but let's get something clear here, Proky-- don't you ever **** accuse me again of defending wife-abuse or attempt to 'shame me' upon same.

Dude, we may well-indeed be talking about a fully-controversial person here, and I get that, but don't you DARE try to turn that in to a personal attack upon me.

Are we CLEAR on that now, or not so much there, PROKY...?

Kidd slapped Joumana in the mouth after she spit on him.

Mind you, I think Joumana is a huge piece of sh*t too because she threatened to out Jason Collins for being gay back in the 05-06 season. That's beyond unconscionable.

it was always clear. you 100% defended a wife abuser, and you did it in the most classic way... downplaying the abuse and throwing dirt on the victim's charecter

Fall back, P.

g didn't defend anyone. He IIRC'd Kidd, which is a clear admission of less than absolute 1000000% knowledge of a subject. You really go to extremes, dude, and it's getting old.

As for Kidd, I don't condone his behavior. NONE OF US DO. However, any rational mind should view behavior on a spectrum. He meets the mark of a domestic abuser, and should suffer the consequences from a legal level. We don't need to equate him on a societal level with R. Kelly or Ted Bundy, and we surely don't need to levy similar criticism to anyone who dares to question this illogic.

No one called him Ted Bundy.

On the flip side, people were brushing off kidd as being a d-bag who hit his wife and got into drunken accidents. this is not the marks of a good person and it happening multiple times over the years shows he doesnt care to change.

Awful human. serial killer? no. but d-bag for sure.

True, Kidd was my basketball idol growing up, and even I can admit he exhibits some abusive habits. Ask Giannis, he'll tell you he wouldn't be a superstar without Jason convincing him to expect more from himself. Conversely, ask Kris, and he'll tell you he was a bully in public and a snake behind closed doors. Hopefully, Ason has matured enough to find success in Dallas.

Kevin Durant and Sue Bird have been added to the USA Basketball board of directors.

Martin Dempsey was reelected chairperson of USA Basketball. Dempsey will remain in the role through the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Joining Bird and Durant are Seimone Augustus, a three-time winner, and Jennifer Azzi and Harrison Barnes, who won gold once.

the respect KD has in the basketball world is just amazing.

I feel sick right now ngl. I wish we had given up another 1st just to keep him. He looks so good and woulkd easily be the best big on this roster. Claxton is nowhere near this level.

1) we didnt have another first. we tried to move shamet and others to get it. The Nets like you wanted to avoid moving allen. but it was required. as much as i loved alen, its still a bargain for harden

2) We couldnt have paid him. cap wise we could make it work with his rights, but the tax would have been higher even then what dinwiddie would have cost us, and we had to dump him for seconds/junk.

3) It still amazes me people were arguing claxton was better then allen

Rooting for the fro. great net. great dude

You're right. I just wish he was here lol

I'm so happy he's making this leap. You see how crisp that hook shot and foul line jumper look? My god man, he got paid and all of a sudden it's like the light went on in his head, he looks like a complete player now with a ton of confidence.

And yeah, the folks who were saying that Claxton was better than Jarrett look crazy right now. It's not even close.

Heh.. alrighty then.

So it's all about your huge self-righteous streak, then. Like, once again, whenever he makes up is mind about something, whoever doesn't conform is clearly an a-hole, right?

First of all-- Go **** Yourself, Jason.

Next, dude-- isn't it typically the GUILTIEST offenders who tend to leap up in outrage upon others? Because you've been doing a pretty wild-child job of it so far, no...?

Din and Allen having good starts into this season. LeVert hurt but seemed happy during games sitting on the bench, hope he'll get healthy.

D. LO and that mob Minny might be making noise this year if they'll manage to stay healthy. They got talent on that team. I won't be surprised if they going to be 5-7 seed.

It seems like Cavs have 10 pg's on their team. Rubio would be nice to have.

If we didn't get Thomas in that Carter trade I'd be giving it to Marks.
