We’re definitely adding someone else now that KD is staying.

No way we can go into the season realistically with Clax and Sharpe as our two primary bigs even if they were playing great. It’s just not enough depth for a championship run. I’m definitely expecting Melo and Dwight to be signed or a combination of either or.

Well I'm not surprised but honestly Im not thrilled. It's going to be a huge distraction this whole season especially with kyrie being a FA but maybe this will make Kyrie ball out for his next contract. Man KD is such a little girl and so selfish smh . Whatever , now that we running it bacck we should definitely be a contender and I would def like to see How Ben Simmons fits with these guys. We need a big man, I wouldn't mind Dwight Howard because he's a certified big man, we're going to need a big man to guard Embiid etc.. and we also need some tough muscle with all the softies we have on this team. We need some toughness, I wouldn't mind Morris either.

I don’t think they’ve taken back control. I think they both realize it’s a lose-lose situation if they continue down the same path, since the Nets won’t get the value they’re looking for in a KD trade and KD probably doesn’t want to further tarnish his reputation.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if KD has it in writing from Tsai that he must be traded if we don’t reach certain objectives this season.

I agree that a 5 that can shoot and another wing are needed. If we can obtain those two, and KD, Kyrie, and Ben are locked in I don't see who can beat us-

There would be absolutely no reason for Tsai to give him anything in writing, or verbal for that matter, to that effect. Why would he put any sort of requirement on himself, the coaching staff, or front office when he doesn't have to? Glad the Nets have learned from their past mistakes, like saying they would have Harden, Irving, and KD all extended long-term before the season would start and then it didn't happen. No need to put yourself in a box when there is no incentive to do so.

Tsai called his bluff and it worked. KD had extremely little leverage before the news about this "partnership" broke and now KD has absolutely none. He already said he won't retire, he is under contract for multiple years, and he just saw that no team will break the bank to acquire him (or even present a reasonable offer to acquire him). And now, since he agreed to this "partnership" moving forward, if he tries to throw shade at the organization or cause any sort of drama, the entire media and average NBA fan will turn on him. It was announced as a partnership by the team to make the situation sound as diplomatic as possible, but the Nets won this stand-off wholeheartedly and have complete control.

This was a bad look for everybody involved, the only way to wash the stink off and pretend this never happened is to win a title. Winning solves everything.

So I say it's imperative the next move is to either move Nash on, or find him a crew of the best assistants in the game.

In any case, I still see us as having a major issue. It's Steve Nash.

As I see it, he was a great fit in terms of letting KI&KD play as many minutes as they wanted, but now is not be then. Like, if it happens ala last season, we're once again screwed when it comes to facing the elites in the PO's (too many of our big three out).

I'm not saying anything intelligent. I'm stating the glaringly obvious.
Something has to change about how Nash manages minutes, or once again it's going to be 'oops, if only!" next offseason.

This is still the best end result.

Don't get me wrong, I despise both KD & Kyrie due to their respective antics. However, this team as currently constructed, still has the best chance to reach the finals, and even win it all.

The odds are much better than trading KD & Kyrie NOW for young players and picks which are not impressive by any chance. If the experiment fails, then they can still trade them with rehabilitated value.

At least now we have chance to see how this team will perform, and not be left wondering "what if?"

P.S.
As a fan in his early midlife, you just want to at least experience even 1 championship for your team. I really hope the basketball gods grant us one in this lifetime.

Tristan is one of the biggest scumbags in the league. That stuff that came out on him wanting the girl to get an abortion was beyond awful.
