We won't. There's still time left in the season to work our way down the standings. Toronto is looking feisty, Chicago and Philly are trying. We are safe where we are.

I hope you're right, but I'm worried about Philly just mailing it in at some point...

Looking at the last 10 games played on the standings, our record of 5-5 is better than 5 of the top 10 teams. And there is still 30 games left to play....

Philadelphia has decided to push all on for this season, despite it going off the rails. They are not planning to shut down Joel, they are not interested in tanking in an effort to keep their top-6 protected pick. They are 1.5 games above us in the standings, and I expect that to increase.

Toronto is 3 games behind us with 29 games to go, but they just traded for and extended Brandon Ingram. They will be better than us down the stretch. Will they jump us in the standings, with us playing so not-horribly? Idk, I hope they do, but I don't want us to stop running coherent system to manufacture that result.

As for the bottom 4 teams, there is no earthly way we will catch them, there was never a chance of that. Washington, Utah and Charlotte have made such a blatant tanking effort, it's disgraceful. New Orleans has had an historic run of bad injury luck, their medical staff needs to be investigated.

TL:DR, I think we're safe to keep competing as hard as we currently are. We are all but locked for the 6th-worst record in the league, whether we end the season with 20 wins or 30 wins. The lottery odds of being the 6th-worst team will remain the same. We might as well look like a professional team while we finish.

This is seriously gonna be a bad win, I can’t even enjoy this one. We’re getting dangerously close to the play-in. Fooking gross.

Yep, that's what I've been saying... We're last the point of cute wins, we get in Jordi the team is gritty and plays with an edge, now lose some games! Please!

Nets are really losing me finally after so long.

We can't win right, we can't lose right.

They make it so tough. Been a lifelong fan but it's starting to feel like what's the point? All this for another Dariq Whitehead type guy? I never want my team to lose but this year I was on board in this supposedly loaded draft. We needed a young franchise guy.

Unreal. I have lived and died with this team but I'm starting not to care at all.

This team will still be in the lottery. This isn’t the NFL where the worst team record wise automatically gets the number 1 pick. There’s a lottery and in the past few years the team with the worst record did not get the number 1 pick. Last year the Hawks were in the play in tournament and still got the top pick, so I don’t understand all this doom and gloom.

I was all fine with that when we were looking like 5th-7th.

If we end up 9th or 10th and don’t make a jump, it’s bad news.

If we make the play-in and actually make the playoffs? Unmitigated **** disaster.

I trust Marks when it comes to drafting.

Nah man, this still is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). No way I’m gonna be all glass half full eternal sunshine if we make the playoffs and windup with the 15th pick after giving up 4 Phoenix and Dallas picks which will all be lotto, some of them probably top 3.

And the fallout will be worse, because Tsai and Marks will immediately pivot to, “Welp this team is too good to tank in ‘26, got to trade all the draft picks for 31 year old Giannis and grandpa KD!”

I’m going to hit my breaking point as a fan, I really am.

At this point, I'm just enjoying a fun watchable product and rooting for teams to surpass the Bucks & Knicks.

they arent making the playoffs. it's a hot streak, it will be followed by a cold streak. they are going to be 5-6th in the lotto odds. toronto just got ingram, philly cant possibly stay this bad.

our whole season is hoping for lotto balls with a 34-52% chance of hitting in top 4 no matter where they ended up in standings from 1-6/7.

I truly hope you’re right, but Philly looks like fried ass, Ingram isn’t a huge impact guy and what happens when Cam Thomas comes back?

Chicago will continue sliding, it’s scary hours…

I’m predicting we win 31 games. That should hopefully be enough to avoid the play-in and stay in the 6xth or at worst, 7th slot before the lottery.

we'll see but i expect the load management will get more aggressive, not less. cam thomas coming back could be as much negative as positive as he goes only as his scoring goes whereas right now they are winning these games by playing good defense and making effort plays. 4 games vs CLE/BOS in the next month. OKC and GS too.

vibes are high at the moment with the team, i think a few losses gets them back on track and there's another losing streak.

they could consider buying out DLo as they are likely to do with Bogs, that would certainly help crash things.
