I honestly don't have an issue with the original phoenix offer if all else fails - Ayton, Bridges, Cam, all the picks. It works on this trade machine and gets the nets under the apron (https://i.ibb.co/7yRDk6Z/fanspo-nba-trade-machine-snap-7-6-2022-12-44-16-PM.png). 1 or 2 picks go to IND in this deal since they take Westbrook.

Marks has filled the roster up enough that the hard cap doesn't even really matter if they can get under it, unless there's some big negative i'm missing. Even if they lose an exception who cares? Without KD they wouldn't be 1 piece away and if ever there's a year to not care it's this one since they are likely going to keep their own draft pick.

Simmons / Patty / Sumner
Curry / Warren
O'Neale / Harris / Edwards
Bridges / Johnson
Ayton / Claxton / Sharpe

everyone around Simmons can hit a shot. the 2nd unit is legit. Patty, Warren, Harris, Johnson, Claxton is a legitimate 5.

hire a real head coach and let's go.

Johnson would start over Oneale.

But I would start both. Mikal can play the two.

Start Simmons/Bridges/Cam/O’Neal/Ayton

That is a scary defense.

With that said, I don’t see phx giving both Cam and Mikal. Maybe both if they send less picks.

I figured Johnson is already really good in the 6th man spot, may as well spread some offense to the second unit.

O'Neal doesn't add much offense to the 2nd unit so I think he's a guy you throw at the other teams best guard and let him go 110% to start the game. Just let him be a mini PJ Tucker nobody wants to play against.

Curry would be their best shot creator so I think he stands to see the biggest usage increase once KD/Kyrie are out the door so he's staying in the starting unit for me with Harris/Patty bringing the shooting off the bench with Cam. I'd let Phoenix keep a pick or a swap to get Cam in the deal. Whatever KD deal the nets do they will need to have some appealing pieces for some kind of future deal and he's one.

I wouldn’t mind the NO trade and Ingram has hunger and heart. He ain’t backing down from a challenge. Sometimes being mentally tough is better than talent. KD is mentally weak. Can he prove us wrong? Ingram/CJ/Daniel’s and 8 picks for Cryrie and KD would be a trade which keeps both the queens together and we get some hungry dogs looking to prove themselves.

It’s part of negotiations. One side inflates the value of the player while the other side deflates the value.

Plus, it’s the off-season. Most guys are healthy and more fans will hypothesize and believe their team has a shot to win it all. Once the games start and certain teams under perform, that’s when teams get desperate and start thinking about making changes to the roster.

The games aren’t being played now, so there’s no real pressure. Let’s see how certain organizations are feeling 6 months from now.

That’s a big risk given KD injury history, age and rods in his foot. Would you hold KD out of games like pelicans did with AD?

Get me Ingram/Jones and 7 first rounders.

Then convince Dallas to take Kooky Kyrie for Dinwiddie and Bertans.

Team is set for the next 5 years.

Hate it for New Orleans. Zion will not sign another contract if they give up their youth and picks, pelicans can’t count on more then two years on KD.

Honestly me too. But I think they might do it.

What makes anyone believe Zion is going to have a long, healthy career? It would not be surprising if he fizzles out in his 20s due to injury issues. I don't think Griffin can plan for the team around Zion 6 years from now.

It's also worth mentioning that Barnes is uncommonly ugly. I watch basketball for the beauty of the game and not it's participants, but 82 game of looking at Barnes face would make me question my fandom.

I think the only fan base that are delusional are Nets fans who tried twice in their franchise history to buy a title. Look Raptors management is not Timberwolves management or Nets management that literally gave up decade of draft picks for the corpse of Paul Pierce & KG ...and again gave up huge boatload if draft picks for half season of Harden... Masai is not trading Barnes and there is absolutely no grantee Durant carries Raptors to title like Kawhi. Durant hasn't done **** with loaded OKC and Nets with Harden& Kyrie ... No thanks

Just take Suns deal ... Bridges & fillers + multiple draft picks ...

Hilarious how you think the Nets wanted to buy a title when you did the exact same thing.

You all were getting sonned by LeBron annually until you forced traded your loyal franchise guy for Kawhi. Who proceeded to dump you the minute he could.

Didn't even have the courtesy to tell his teammates or pen a letter to Raptors fans. Bro wanted nothing to do with you ever again.

Don't talk to me about team building. Toronto hasn't built **** since that one fluke of a year when the Warriors got injured.

Scoop B is not a reliable source but seems to have connects with Kyrie. I think its obvious Kyrie wants to be back.

I think its more KD whos fed up.

Seems to me that KD desperately wants to be in Phoenix.

Thats why hes not entertaining anything else from other players.

If he can't get to Phoenix he might not want to go play for New Orleans or Toronto. Where he might not have the best chance to compete.

Guy always wants the easy way out.

I have no interest in Ayton at that price range.

If I'm the Nets I do the the Pelicans trade. Even if KD wants back. Don't care what KD wants. Not that enthusiastic about running it back.

Give me Ingram/Nance and 7 picks. And its a done deal.

Then Kyrie can play for a little bit until his value is back up. Then he goes to Dallas.

Simmons
Harris
Ingram
Nance
Claxton

What a fun awesome team to root for.

I’m sure KD is relaxing while everyone else is freaking out lol. This “radio silence” sounds like pure conjecture. There are recent photos of him playing pickup games with other NBA players. How did other players get in contact with him if he went “radio silent”?

KD just needs to play and STFU . He signed a max deal, hold up your end of the bargain. He thinks he's going to tell us where to trade him to and who we can't get back. Who tf he thinks he is.? it don't work that way, you want out, we'll send you wherever we get the better of the deal. Deal with it you multi millionaire cry baby. We dealt all of our draft picks and got the coach u wanted and now he slaps us in the face.

I mean thats how negotiations work.

Marks wants an all star level player back. Similar to the deal the Pelicans got for AD at least.

Anything less would be unacceptable.

Raptors fans are straight up unbearable. Get away from our board, this **** has nothing to do with you.

You either give up Siakam and the ugly assed Barnes plus 4 picks or we aren't even speaking.

A lot of the things Jay hit on were spot on. If he did get his way and ended up on the Heat or the Suns, it would not help his legacy. He would be just another ring chasing vet that had to go elsewhere to win a chip. If he wins it in Brooklyn, he will have been part of the building process. He would be the "Bus driver" like Barkley put it.

Same with Cryrie, it makes more sense for him to stay money wise. If he and KD stayed the Nets would be contenders in the east. It makes more sense for them to stay.

My guess is there is a huge rift between KD and Marks. We heard reports before he asked out that KD had not spoke with the Nets brass in weeks. That is why KD went to Joe Tsai to request to be traded. It may come down to one or the other leaving the Nets organization. I don't think Joe Tsai wants to lose either one but he may have to make a decision between the two. If that did happen and KD stayed and Marks gets the ax you could almost hear the internet implode with hate on KD.

He's right.

None of these deals are good for the Nets, and the Nets have the best roster right now that we've had since they signed here.

Imo it’s not that kyrie and KD wouldn’t prefer to be in Brooklyn. They would. It’s not that they don’t wanna play together anymore they do. I think in a perfect world they are still nets. The disconnect is ownership is trying to take back some power within the organization and not just relinquish any authority to them and do whatever they want anymore.

Kyrie wants a certain contract and the nets won’t give it to him. It’s not Brooklyn it’s not the city- it’s that they wanna have full reign over the entire organization and tsai and Mark’s and the powers that be (really tsai) don’t seem to be on board with that anymore and kyrie and KD are demanding out because of it.

Scoop b or whomever else can say Brooklyn is where kyrie and KD wanna be- that’s likely facts but they wanna be in Brooklyn their way and I don’t think that’s happening anymore. I think these things take time and ultimately you’ll get a really good return for KD. Everything right now is posturing.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
