No team made as big a reach on Draft Night as the Nets did. In fact, it's hard to recall any team in recent memory making as big a reach.

This is actually not true. Bruno Caboclo and Josh Huestis come to my mind.

VC4P - I think the Mobley/Redd comps are dead on. I think those are 2 very fair upside comps for LeVert.

Did their teams trade their 2nd best players for them? The problem isnt just that Marks reached. He lost the trade too. We went from Filet Mignot to 3 week old, freezer burnt steak-um.

Bruh, Thaddeus Young is not filet mignon, he's more like some flank that you made solid tacos with after you marinated it and slow smoked it and then added a bunch of stuff.

He's thw 4th best player at best on a solid playoff team. Hell he's the 5th best player on the Pacers... at best...

He went from the second best asset on this team to like the 5th best asset on the Pacers. We just have pretty bad assests.

Levert has great upside if he can stay healthy. His efficiency, defense, passing skills and being clutch is impressive. He is one of the rookies that I will look into.

I think we should just wait and see. I wasn't thrilled with the return for Thad or our draft either. But what if we can get a good PF replacement in free agency? Or what if LeVert stays fit and really turns out to be solid or even good wing player. Right now, it's really tough to accurately rate this trade.

the nets didnt trade thad for Levert

they traded thad for levert and 11 million dollars in cap space.

thad being our second best player is irrelevant. we were a 21 win team. so that says nothing of his value. its not like he was the second best player on the warriors where that would mean something positive.

this is a fantastic analogy.

id take it a step further in that some people are confusing thad with being skirt steak instead of flank steak and then being incredibly underwhelmed when they realize they got the lean chewy cut instead of the fatty stuff that melts in your mouth.

its not about if he is our 2nd best asset or another teams 5th best asset.

all that matters i what his value is leaguewide. and his leaguewide value is the 20th pick + cap releif. we put him out to the highest bidder almost no one wanted him and 20 and cap space was the msot offered. that is literally his market value

i think we would improve and maybe make the playoffs... depends on the wings we got.

i think the odds of getting good wings are better without thad, since we could afford better wings without him... all things seem to point to having to overpay a bit for whatever FA's we get

I hope Levert plays like a damn stud. Nothing would piss Boston off more if we landed a better talent at the back end of the draft while they drafted another dud with our pick

do you think marks or atkinson though thad would be a poor fit due to his limitations and weaknesses in atkinson style of play?

ainge is making questionable draft picks, i would of taken kris dunn as a no brainer there.

Yeah, I thought Dunn was a no brainer but I guess Boston thought otherwise.

I think he may have wanted someone that can space the floor a bit better/defends better on P n R.

I like he Pick, he is long and was very productive, at #20, who cares if he is a injury risk.

The alternative would have been taking Dejonte Murray if you anted to go young
