Renouncing Bogdonovic was confirmation. Once the Wiz officially announce, I think we'll hear an agreement with KCP leak out shortly after (even if the official paper work takes a couple days thanks to the grumpy Wiz).

That luxury tax bill wow

I'm shocked the wizards are willing to pay it

they would be in the tax after walls extension anyhow. they dont have much of a choice. once they maxed beal they knew this day would come. the gortat/mahinimi contracts are killers, and why im against 14-16M type deals for role guys. they add up quick.

I never believed he was going to be a net so it made no sense to even think about lineups with him

Just interesting to get a confirmation so we aren't waiting for woj around mid night

Getting DC over the cap was the plan there's still a lot to happen in free agency. Even if Brooklyn chooses to keep the bulk of their cap space there's better deals that could happen during the season.

it gets greater later

I don't buy it for a second.

We've been hearing Miles to Minny rumors for a few days now. Talks are stalled over money. I think this is Miles agent trying to get force the TWolves to do a S+T or something.

Things like that don't leak from our office.

Still dont buy that miles report. Still think it was Miles agent trying to get more money and Minny gave up and got crawford for the minimum

Oh I agree 100%, but I didn't expect Miles to not sign with Minnesota. Now that he may not, I think we may actually have a shot.

Ah totally forgot about him with the whole OPJ hoopla going on. Yea CJ Miles is a fine veteran who's transformed himself into an an elite 3pt volume shooter last season. He's a tough competitor coming from the old skool Sloan Utah Jazz squads and with Indy going into tank mode (and signing Bojans signaling a shift away from CJ imo), can defend 2 wing positions well, isnt very old despite being in the NBA for over a decade (29), and is likely a nice fit to slot in behind Levert and provide 3pt shooting for the bench unit.

Depending on how much KCP is demanding, Miles as the backup option isnt a terrible idea. Combined with JaMychal Green on a reasonable deal, that'd get some valuable veterans on tradeable contracts.

C - Mozgov, Allen, Acy, JHam
PF-JaMychal, RHJ, Booker
SF- Levert, Miles, Harris
SG- DLo, SKil, Whitehead
PG- Lin, Dimwiddie, Goodwin (stash him in DLeague too)

Thats a nicely balanced roster, lots of 3pt shooting in the starting lineup and bench. Good defenders at most spots. Only downside is that Booker situation needs to be resolved, him being 3rd string will cause chemistry problems, if he can be traded somewhere for a 2nd that'd be ideal. JHam is just happy to be in the NBA, so it doesnt matter.

The key is to not overpay JaMychal and Miles in order to make their deals easy to move if a marquee FA becomes available in 2018 and willing to sign.

Edit: Crawful is TERRIBLE, i dunno why Thibs wants to deal with his rampant chuckery and no defense. He's supposedly "nice good guy" but for some odd reason the LAC chemistry never really worked and in large part cuz of his chucking ass. If Minny get Crawful and CJ Miles falls to the Nets on a reasonable deal... thats a HUGE win imo.

Haha, good thing PHI blew their load so early on JJ Reddick and Amir Johnson. Lots of value signings falling through the cracks as cap dries up. Colangelo a good GM, pfft.

Miles would be great vet for youngsters --- Marks did say he would be signing some more vets. Bogut on a good contract would also be a great teacher for young Jarrett, Afro Samurai.

Some other good sleepers

KCP's agent is rich Paul and he won't let KCP join any team under 20m per year. I think we should pass on KCP and sign

Hoping team does a bunch of 1+1 team options deals instead of long term ones once Porter is match or find contract dumps that end with either the mosgov deal or 2 year options.

It'll all be settled soon and then we can argue about playing time for the next 3 months.
