Apple brought three utility and four design patents to bear against Samsung. Patent number 7,469,381 is for the bounce back that occurs when you scroll beyond the edge of a webpage or document in iOS. Patent number 7,844,915 is for single-finger scrolling and two-finger zooming, while number 7,864,163 claims tap-to-zoom technology. As for the design patents, D618,677 claims the iPhone's edge-to-edge glass, speaker slot and display border, while D593,087 claims its rounded corners and home button, and D604,305 claims the grid-style icon layout in iOS. The last design patent, D504,889 is for the iPad's edge-to-edge glass, rounded corners, and thin bezel.

If Samsung's cell phone line has to be withdrawn, I'm not exactly sure Samsung would attack Apple on that front since the iPhone is probably one of their biggest sources of revenue.

Apple now has the ammunition to go against every other company that uses Android or has a touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom (looking at you PS Vita).

I'm sure Samsung will appeal. Idk if they will be successful with most of it considering how dumb these US judges seem to be, but you shouldn't be able to patent pinch-to-zoom or having rounded corners. That's just mind-blowingly idiotic.

I think the success rate of winning an appeal on a patent is incredibly low. It's not just the judges, but also dumb jurors and a horrible patent system.

I've never been too upset about it. It was worse than stock Android and Sense, but it was miles better than MotoBlur.

I never liked Android on Motorola so I never even bothered to pay serious interest in their devices. I like Samsung and their hardware, but it just really annoys me that they put such a crap UI on great hardware.

I really hope Google just gives Samsung the next Nexus again, just so I can get stock Android with Samsung internals!

My cousin did, I've heard good things about it... Though I also know someone who switched from the Windows Phone back to an iPhone but they're an idiot so I think that explains why.
