Finally Came Up With The Adequate Harris Trade

NJN sends: Devin Harris, Kris Humphries, + cash

For

Leandro Barbosa
Robin Lopez
2011 second round pick

Why for us: Barbosa is well accustomed to coming off the bench being a sixth man, is an average defender, and is as fast or almost as fast as Harris. He's more of an undersized SG and the Suns like to play him with Nash but he will do fine here at the 1, specially if Mr.T is at the 3. A better version of Keyon Dooling. We also receive the other twin to complete our set! Robin is not as polished as Brook, but he is a hustle player, brings energy and defense, a better version of Humphries for sure. It also gives us more cap space for Melo. 8-)

Wall/Barbosa/2nd round pick
Lee/CDR/Miller
Mr.T/Miller/CDR
D.Lee/Yi/Dallas 1st
Batman/Robin

Why for them: They get an All-star PG with on a very modest contract with multiple years. Would be amazing to see Nash-Harris combo on the break. They get a serviceable big to replace Rolo's hustle, and some spending cash to go along with it.

Nash/Harris/Dragic
J.Rich/Harris/Dragic
Hill/Dudley/Clark
Stoudemire/Griffin
Frye/Humphries

I have to admit, I half hate Barbosa, so I don't really want to comment to deeply on this trade.
I also don't think Phoenix would be to high on this, even though the value is really solid.

I have a Harris trade I would like to throw out there, I have thrown out similar ideas before, gimme a minute...

Bastard sabotaged my trade on the T&D board.

Barbosa will be in your nightmares!

Alright, I'm going to catch a lot of flack for this one, as I usually have in the past for any version of this trade that I have posted, but without further ado, bring the ridicule on...

Disclaimer: This trade would only be considered if we missed out on Wall and even more so if we if we wound up with Evan Turner to play alongside him.

NJ sends:
Devin Harris
Yi Jianlian
Kris Humphries

Washington sends:
Gilbert Arenas

Thoughts: Alright, this is a HIGH risk move. Arenas has been injured a lot and now is a convicted felon. Thing is though, he is a tremendous talent. He is also on a gargantuate contract for the next 4 seasons. This is close to cap neutral though, it only add a little over a million to the payroll next season, actually about 2.3 I believe after the 2 extra capholds this creates because of the abscence of Yi and Hump.
Arenas is considered by many to be a near immovable contract and for good reason, so there should probably be serious added compensation coming back to NJ in addition to Arenas himself. I don't think it would be easy for their front office to justify to the fans giving up their lotto pick though, but maybe something like this would work...

NJ sends:
Devin Harris
Yi Jianlian
Kris Humphries
CDR
Dallas pick

NJ recieves:
Gilbert Arenas
Washington's pick, assuming they don't move up(5th overall, maybe lower)

Washington sends:
Gilbert Arenas
5th overall pick

Washington recieves:
10th overall pick( via Indianna)
CDR
Dallas pick(27th overall)
TJ Ford
Yi Jianlian
Kris Humphries

Indianna sends:
10th overall pick
TJ Ford

Indianna recieves:
Devin Harris

Thoughts?

WTF man.

We're trying to rebuild, build up these young guys, create a winning mentality. Gilbert is a chucker, chemistry breaker... and look at that effin contract! Melo???????

VCP, Agent Zero is to you what Marbury is to Nets Force

Anyway, as to the original trade. I probably would do it (though I think I like Barbosa more than most on this board).

I think it's a moot point since IMO Phoenix rejects it pretty quickly. There's no denying Harris > Barbosa, but not at the expense of their best defensive big man and the impact it will have on their luxury tax. Even if you included the maximum amount of cash in a trade ($3 mil), this costs PHX about $3.5 million next season.

If we could possibly get a FOURTH team involved where we can ship Arenas and be able to keep the 5th pick I'd do it.

I have it with three teams where we keep the 5th pick. Although I would rather find a 4th team, probably as a seperate trade to ship that 5th pick to, to aquire a different player in addition to Arenas...

Get Utah involved where Washington gets Harris, Hibachi plays the 2 in Utah and we get Utah's lotto pick lol.
