Willing to trade Lopez?

I want to gauge interest in your willingness to trade Brook to get Wall.

As a Kings fan, I was in your position last year and ended with the 4th pick. It ended up well for us getting Reke, but I was wondering if you guys end up in the same position @ 4 and the Kings slip into #1 would this trade interest you:

#1
Hawes or Thompson

for

Lopez
#4

I am a big Lopez fan and the Kings could use his defensive ability down low. You guys get the big prize in the draft plus a decent center or a hometown kid.

You can trade Harris for a nice piece also.

I'd rather us take our chances at the lottery and taking Wall ourselves with the #1 pick. In the worst case scenario in which we end up with the 4th pick...yeah, I'd keep Lopez.

I don't even want to think about this kind of **** right now.
Matter of fact dude, you may have just ruined my day. :x

Alright I was kidding. But yeah, no to a Lopez trade for Wall as of right now, especially not one in which we basically recieve Hawes or Thompson in return for the 4th overall pick.

Negative. I wouldn't trade Lopez for the #1 pick in this draft straight up. You need a big like Lopez if you want to be a contender, and isn't that the ultimate goal anyway?

I'd say the #4 pick is worth more than Hawes too... As for whether it's worth more than Thompson I guess that depends what you think of Thompson.

The 4th pick is easily worth a ton more then Hawes or Thompson.

And Wall is worth more then Lopez. What is this delusion that you need a player like Lopez to win a championship. You need a player like Wall (if he turns out to be what is expected).

As for the deal, i would seriously consider it. Maybe with some slight versions.

I would do Wall for Lopez plus whatever necessary that isn't the number 4 pick, but I am not including the number 4.

While Wall > Lopez, the gap between pick #4 and Hawes is significantly higher. I wouldn't do this trade at all.

No you don't and don't even try to argue otherwise.

How many super athletic ball dominant point guards have done anything come playoff time without a prime-time post player?

To win it all you need someone who can score down low and alter shots in the lane, that's why such a premium is put on big men. If you don't have one you end up like Chicago or Milwaukee in this year's playoffs it's just one jump shot after another...

Sorry but no.
The way I look at the lottery is not a #1 or bust for us because Honestly in the team's current formation Wall doesnt fill a need, we have Harris and when he's healthy he's a top 5 PG in the league.
Dont get me wrong I'll be very dissapointed if we get #4 or #3 but I would never give up Lopez for Wall.

Harris is not a top 5 pg in the league, he might not even be top 10 by next year.

Lopez isn't Shaq, Duncan or Howard and noone but delusional Net fans think he will ever reach that kind of level. Wall on the other hand has an unlimited ceiling and can become one of the top players in the league. Top players win championship, this whole thing about needing a big man or what not is a myth, there is no magic formula.

HELL NO TO TRADING LOPEZ!!

I would rather have Turner/Favors/W.Johson/even Cousins and Lopez then to just have Wall. If we luck out of the getting #1, It is what it is!

Harris,Turner, Twill, ?, Lopez
or
Harris, Lee, Twill, Favors, Lopez
or
Harris, Lee/Twill, Johnson, ?, Lopez
or
Harris, Lee, Twiil, Cousins, Lopez

IMO are all better then

Wall, Lee/Harris, Twill, ?, ?

I completely agree with you. I think the way everybody should look at the propose trade is as a package not Lopez for the number 1 pick and Hawes or Thompson for the number 4.

Lopez still can be potentially great but, for me, he's not gonna be that dominant as most been hoping for. He's not gonna be the next Duncan. I think Nets fans are overrating his talent.

Now, assuming this deal happens, this year's draft class is loaded with big talents and this it would make much sense to try to get higher pick using our 2 other picks plus the value of Harris, CDR, Lee or TWill, and maybe even Yi.

We also have tons of cap space to sign another big FA and if we get lucky then we can just look for a combo forward and a defensive C in this draft.

I would really rather have a defensive C because this FA class is loaded with scoring PF's.

However, next season, having a decent coach would probably change Lopez' game for the better so ill probably wait and see if he can move his game to a different level.

But i think same goes for Wall, i dont like the hype he's getting.

Why are some of the same people that were so high on Lopez now down on him?
Were you guys expecting him to jump to a 20/10/3/2 player in one season surrounded by one of the poorest supporting casts and worst coaches in NBA history?
He's still very young.
The sky's still the limit for Brook.

I'm not down on him at all. I'm withholding judgment until I see how he operates on the defensive end with a real coach and players that take pride in defense.

Another Kings fan curious about another variation on this idea.

I'm thinking the more likely scenario for a Lopez trade to Sacramento would be one that wouldn't include Thompson/Hawes and the NJ pick going to SAC.

However most Kings fans say that just a straight pick for Lopez deal isn't quite enough. What might NJ consider as far as potentially adding some value?

The Kings would have a 4 man post rotation of Landry, Lopez, Thompson & Hawes
The Nets would have 2 top 5 picks in a pretty impressive draft.

Added value? I guess it would start at one of the wings (CDR, T-Will, or Lee) and, depending on which one you would take, go from there.

I dont care how good ONE player is if you dont have a solid team around them YOU CANT WIN.

NO, I dont think Lopez is going to be duncan. What I do know is if you have a good PG, SG, SF, PF and C you can win.

When the NETS went to back to back Finals, did we have a dominant player? No. We had a balanced team that lacked a half court game. Lopez is the ideal second option. Why would you want to lose that option in the post? Thorn always says it, There are two positions that are necessary to win. PG and C. Why would you want to get rid of one to get the other.
