Nets rebuliding form

I got the perfect trade and strategy to get the nets good. If nets get 1st overall pick then u should keep the pick till the draft and draft john wall. Then keep john wall and trade devin away for a PF since yi is terrible. I would not recommend Beasley because hes just a plain draft bust. He plays worse defense than yi and scores minimal points. So I would try getting amare for devin and CDR in that trade. Then in 2010 free agency plan A for nets is to get lebron, thats the obvious. Plan B for the nets in my opinion is to get 2 star free agents. But nets would probably get 1 if they traded for amare. I think nets should get joe johnson.

Beasley/Wall/Lopez + star FA = contention for championship in a year.
Beasley isn't producing because he play's for the heat, who don't run any good offensive plays. Also expect FA that go to maimi to have lower stats, everything they run offensively is for wade.

No I don't want Beasley. I think the best would be to draft Wall and trade Devin to a team that can eat his contract like Memphis who would love to have Harris.

I would say something like Arthur and their pick for Harris

I would even do Harris for Thabeet straight up. Something along those lines where we gain capspace.

What this does is put us in the 2 max range. We can now say Lebron come play hear with two budding stars in Lopez and Wall, then feel free to take your pick of free agent PF's (Lee/Bosh/Boozer/Amare). That is a Celtic type turn around.

Wall/Dooling (Veteran backup realeased and resigned cheaper)
Lee/#27 (preferably a lights out shooter)
LBJ/T-WIll (sixth man who can play multiple postitions)
Amare/Yi (solid shooter off the bench)
Lopez/Thabeet (shot blocker who can rebound and block shots)

then #31, Hump, and CDR to fill out the roster.

That is clearly the best case senerio but with a little luck not out of the question. Easily right there with the Lakers and Orlando.

Edit: Coach Tom Thibadeau

If the Nets get the #1 pick they trade it with Brook Lopez to Orlando for Dwight Howard!!! Then trade Devin Harris and whatever else (future first,CDR maybe) to get Amare, draft a PG with the Mavs pick (willie warren, eric bledsoe, armon johnson???).

Mavs pick/Dooling
Lee
Twill
Amare
Howard

The Nets would have to sign a good amount of free agents for a good price, heres a list of players i wouldnt mind seeing the Nets sign just to name a few:
Stephen Jackson
Mike Miller
Rip Hamilton
Matt Barnes
Mehmet Okur
Travis Outlaw
Udonis Haslem

So in reality you have to ask yourself, would you rather have Wall and Lopez or another rookie pg and Dwight Howard?

Orlando wouldn't do that trade. The value is there for sure, but they are a true win now contender, Howard is arguably a top 5 player in the league, he is extremeley young, super marketable, a high character guy, the face of the franchise and he's happy in Orlando.

Captain Jack, Rip Hamilton, Matt Barnes and Mehmet Okur are all signed to long term contracts.

Dont they have player options? I dont know I dont research these kind of things thoroughly enough.

Yeah I know it's not fair value but don't keep your hopes up too high. Every team knows we can't use him (If we land Wall) so we are going to get low balled. Those were just off the top of my head trades, but I seriously expect us to get future picks and a cheap vet or cheap rookie so we can gain more space this summer to have the lure of two max free agents. (LBJ and Amare)

I'm using all my hopes up for Wall right now, I don't have any to spare.

Would you guys do a deal with the Pacers that involves Troy Murphy and #10 pick for Devin Harris?

I wouldn't. Its not a bad deal, but i think we can do better with Devin. I'm totally fine with Devin and Wall playing together for 1 season, so teams trying to low ball can take a hike. In this draft, there is pretty much the same quality talent at #10 that there is at #20, plus the Nets have enough picks as it is. Murphy is not the worst temp at PF, but making a run at Boozer/Lee/Amare are better options.

Ok deal, but there will be better options.

I highly disagree. I think there is a pretty big fall off after maybe the top 10 players come off the board, although those guys are far from guaranteed to go in the top 10 picks.

If we landed Wall I would consider 10th/Rush/expiring for Harris.

^^^^ I'm I'm Rod Thorn and that deal was offered to me and Patrick Patterson or Greg Monroe were sitting there at #10, I'd sign that baby and run out of the room as fast as I could screaming "NO TAKE BACKS!"

Wall/
Lee/Twitt/CDR
Patterson/Rush
Murphy/Humph
Brook/Yi

Plus 2 more rookies. Not bad potentially, the deal is much better with Rush in there.

Considering the cap impact (cuts about $5 million in cap space when you add in the pick), I'd want to include Yi or Humphries into the deal.

It also gives some nice insurance for Indy if Hansborough isn't ready to make the leap and/or gets hurt.

I think the inclusion of Rush might be a deal breaker for me. I don't even think he is going to be that good, but if he realizes his role, with experience he could be the new Shane Battier and that is a very valuable player to have on your roster.

Why bother. Yi will expire in a year anyway, and its not like we will need the cap to sign anyone this year. We still have enough to get a top FA if you want to, and the roster is filled out with the rotation guys as it, no need to add extra ones, might as well keep Yi.
