Are you guys fine with JJ and Amare going to Miami and Gay and Boozer going to NYK and facing

Rose
Deng
James
Bosh
Noah

Chalmers
Wade
JJ
Amare
??

NYK lineupe isn't that great so I won't put it up.

Are you okay with

Harris
Williams
Favors
Lopez ?

Or do you go after Amare and JJ to challenge Chi and make Miami obsolete? A lineup of

Harris
Williams
JJ
Amare
Lopez could challenge Chi, no? Or do you sit back and watch?

What do you want you owner to do? You know this could end up in a bidding war with Miami for JJ and Amare, because they would have the same issue after/if LBJ and Bosh signs with CHi as rumored.

BTW, I already know Miami is going after those two if they don't get Bosh and/ or James.

Of course a bidding war helps PHX in this case, because Amare will need a S&T to get the most money. Please, don't get upset at me or the possibility of this happening.

JA Adande and NBA TV post game are talking about how this is the way of the future; Not waiting for players to develope and getting established stars to compete, i.e Boston.

If Amare wants a sign and trade I don't want to give up any of Lopez, Harris, T.Will, or Favors for him, anything else is fair game.

Yi/Hump/C.Lee/Dooling/Future picks.

At this point I wouldn't mind

Harris/FA/T.Will
JJ/T.Will/FA
T.Will/James/FA
Amare/Favors
Lopez/FA/Favors

Eh Rod Thorn is a good GM. He's not gonna make any rash decisions. I'll support what he does basically. I think we're gonna work our tales off the next 6 days to shed Yi/Dooling/Humprhies to get under the cap so we won't have to worry as much since we'll have space for 2 max deals too.

The more I think about draft last night, the more I think we just loaded assets for sign and trades. Basically, if the deal for Jerome James is true, we added 3 bigs last night (well Damion James is a 3 that can play the 4 at times). If we lose out on free agency, we now have A LOT of front court depth. Obviously it won't be able to produce right off the bat, but we'd continue the rebuilding mode with a lot of talent. On the latter, if we can sign a guy early in free agency, I think we have enough assets to do a sign & trade now without completely gutting the team. Historically, when teams look at S&T's, they look for bigs as the main part of the package, a decent guy in a need position and maybe some picks. I think with the amount of rookie contracts we now have, we can put something together that will entice a lot of teams.

With that said, in terms of Amare: Devin, Brook, Twill are still completely off limits. If you want Favors, you're never getting Twill from us.

But to me personally, I'm still confident we make the moves to get under the cap, making this situation moot.

I'd live with not signing anyone this offseason. Unlike the Knicks the Nets didn't mortgage their future for this offseason. Also unlike the Knicks the Nets have pieces they can part with in the event that an established star becomes disgruntled and wants out. The flexibility is there, the pieces to rebuild are there, it's just going to take some time...

Already covered this on another thread, haven't we? And the majority of responses then, and I'm sure the majority of the response now will still be....

Keep your paws of Favors.

We're not getting on a bidding war for Amare if it involves giving up one of our top young prospects...unless of course, the King says do it...and then we ask "how dirty do you want us to do it?"

I have jumped off the Lebron bandwagon since we found out Brooklyn wasnt going to be ready this year.

I really dont care where Lebron goes. I like this team the way it is. I prefer being the Thunder or Portland then being the Knicks and whoever doesnt get lebron (Chicago or Miami) with overpaying second tier players first tier prices.

This is a little different thread. Thanks for the responses. I agree, you guys are not like Nyk or Miami. You have cap space and money. I just wanted to know your thoughts if James and Bosh went to Chi. That is another questions from the just get Amare thread.

My first reaction is that I don't see Bosh following James to Chicago, to potentially be an eventual 3rd option over there. My guess is he latches on in Miami. It's a better situation for him & there's no state income tax in Florida, so he actually nets more money there.

If that's how it all played out, I'd be fine with it. The Knicks would still be a lottery team with no picks. Let the other teams overpay. With a new CBA coming down the road that will likely lower player salaries & the cap, it would be extremely dangerous to spend foolishly. Outside of James, Wade & Bosh, none of the FAs deserve the max. There is reason to consider potentially overpaying for Gay, since he's young & could develop with the team. Other than that, I'm not coming close to maxing out the guys with bad wheels.
