I just need to switch to tune here a little bit. All this FA talk is killing me so I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Lets change the tune to summer league.

When does it start?

I think we clearly need to be looking at backup PG's, C's, and shooters and it looks like we are doing that when you look at the roster.

A few names that stuck out

Zoubek
Uzoh
Abrams

These guys I think could make a play for the remaining roster spots.

Scouting reports from nbadraft.net

PG - Ben Uzoh: 6-3 200lbs

Strengths: A combo guard with all the physical tools to become a serious player at the next level ... He has the size, strength and athleticism to put him in the top echelon of guards ... When determined, he can get to the basket at will and finish above the rim with authority ... He has a great burst of speed and a quick first step, making it easy for him to create space ... He shoots the ball well from deep, but is especially dangerous from midrange, where he shows a nice pull-up with terrific elevation ... Continues to become a more steady and capable playmaker ... Looks to make plays for others ... Still has a fair amount of upside ...

Weaknesses: Has a tendency of becoming complacent and coasting, has all the tools to be a terrific player, but sometimes he plays with very little energy and determination ... Does not have great focus and concentration, often being an easy target of double teams ... Plays wild at times ... Lacks body control on penetration, leaving him off balance and forcing him to take awkward shot attempts … Seems to be a rhythm guy, when things are going well he plays with energy and can do a lot of things, but when they go bad he seems to just compound his mistakes further ...

C - Brian Zoubek: 7-1 260 lbs.

Strengths: A role player with good size and length for the center position … Plays hard and is willing to do all the dirty work inside ... Will fight for position on the defensive end, get to the glass and rebound ... Effective setting screens to get his teammates open ... Rebounds the ball extremely well thanks to his size and aggressive approach inside ... Has a very good nose for the ball and is able to get to a number of missed shots that are out of his area ... A high character guy, a good teammate and a nice locker room piece ... Shows decent hands, and can make catches in the paint in drive and dish situations ...

Weaknesses: Style of game would fit better in the NBA if it were 1980 ... Big, tall, unathletic centers don't have much of a place in the NBA nowadays ... Not a scoring threat inside ... Lacks footwork, touch and body control to be effective with his back to the basket ... Does not have great mobility and his motor is also fairly poor - demonstrated by his inability to run the floor and stay on the court for extended periods of time ... Extremely foul prone ... An awkward athlete with very stiff and robotic movements ...

PF - Wayne Chism: 6-9 246lbs.

Strengths: A team oriented power forward who does a little bit of everything … He is a player focused on winning and will do whatever it takes to get the job done without worrying about his personal stats … He has good size and strength for an inside player, he is also a decent athlete with a good wingspan ... He is comfortable operating with his back to the basket, working hard block to block in order to establish good low post position ... He has good feet and can spin off and out quick defenders to get to the basket ... Can turn to either shoulder and shoot a fading jumper ... Uses a decent mini hook with his right hand ... Has a good looking jumpshot and is more than comfortable stepping out beyond the three ... Likes to come off a down screen, he gets his feet set and shots a consistent mid to long jumper ... Makes plays on the defensive end thanks to his length and willingness to put in the effort ...

Weaknesses: Does a lot of things well, but doesn't have an aspect of his game that stands out ... His post game is predicated on quickness and outmuscling defenders, but he doesn't have a great repertoire of moves ... His touch around the basket isn't very refined and he struggles finishing against taller defenders ... Does not have much ability to attack off the dribble ...

C - Garrett Siler: 7-0 291lbs.

Strengths: Looks like a legit 7’ footer with tremendous strenght and size … His most impressive trait is the fact that he runs the floor fairly well and he has great feet for someone his size … He runs with short on somewhat choppy steps, but he is very efficient and does not fatigue as fast as one would expect … Inside, he is very good because he has great hands and a soft touch, and if he catches a defender on his back he is pretty much unstoppable because of his wide base and strength … He is able to finish plays with dunks, especially off drives and dishes, where he shows some very underrated explosiveness …

Weaknesses: His footspeed is very limited, posing a great problem defensively as opposing big men face him up and attack at will … His rebounding is also not very impressive as he seems to lack instinct and he struggles with players that are quicker to get into better rebounding position … He does not show much in terms of anticipation and weakside help … His offensive game is strictly confined to within 5 feet, outside of that range, he does not even look to shoot the ball … He is a 66% shooter for his career … His release is jerky and he moves the ball to the side as he is about to release it, causing some inconsistency in his release.

AJ Abrams and Demond "Tweety" Carter had no profile.

Nbadraft.net should be taken with a large grain of salt. When possible go by DX.

A little disappointed we don't have Torrance on our roster, or Scottie Reynolds, or even Manny Harris or Sherron Collins for that matter.

Well, I take the fact that we don't have Sherron Collins on the roster as Thorn intends T-Will to be the back up point guard instead of scouting Collins on the summer team, which doesn't seem too bad. Unless, I'm not thinking about an older point that would play for the vet min that we intend to bring in.

i think Sheron Collins is on the Bobcats summer roster.Do we have our own team this year?I hope we're not sharing with Philly again that was the worst idea ever.

Yeah we have our own team this year and thank god that we do... CDR picked up some seriously bad habits from that chucker Speights.

Dude would shoot the ball everytime he touched it...

Doesnt mean anything. You know teams can sign any of the guys regardless of who has them on their summer team.

Very true.
Mikhail Torrance has been signed by the Heat, not sure if it's just summer league or a outright signing for the minimum or even partially guaranteed.
He's blaming his heart condition for going undrafted...

Sherron Collins is on the Bobcats.
Scottie Reynolds is on the Suns.
Jerome Randle on the Wizards.
Sylven Landesberg is on Sacramento.
Still searching for Harris.

Edit: Manny Harris is with the Cavs.

I know, it's not like they're guaranteed a spot on the roster of the team they're with in the Summer League, just would have been nice to have at least one of them on our roster, it never hurts your chances at them.

I think Orlando SL is going to be free again:

Guess we'll find out on July 5th... But looks like the exact same thing as last year :-D

We could put out a nice little squad out there.

Uzoh
T-Will
DJ
Favors
Zoubek

I think all of these guys will find themselves on the team next year so it will be good for them to be playing together.

Put Twill @ the point and we'll sweep the league.I hope Twill and Favors can build some nice chemistry since they'll probably be coming off the bench together this season.

I just got confirmation that the Orlando Magic Summer League games will not be available for free this year...

You have to buy some **** package from NBA.com to watch any SL games... Talk about BS. The level of play in SL is so terrible we should be paid for watching that ****.

Tickets for the Orlando Summer League aren't available to the public :-(...

Though if you show up in a shirt and shorts I bet you could convince the "security" there that you're actually one of the players...
