Just a Mavs fan here..... I come in peace.

As we all know the Nets are in the race for Lebron, but you still need room for two max contracts. The Mavericks are weighing their options with Dampier's contract right now and just recently rejected a Luol Deng for Dampier offer from the Bulls. Who on your team would you be willing to trade for Dampier's contract?

The Bulls and us are both at 30 mil. The Bulls ony chance to get closer to that 33.6 for two max is to deal one of Deng/Rose/Noah+Taj or Johnson. That is why they are trying so desperately to move Deng...as that dollar per value...of their top three players he is the guy that makes the most sens to get rid of. 51mil over 4 years? Ros and Noah are more valuable and make a fraction of what he makes. Move one of them...they are a lot less attractive to come to for the big stars.

Nets on the other hand...Kris Humphries 1 year remaining 3.2 mil...is a lot easier to move and a lot less costly. So we dont really need that huge cash savings of the DUST chip.

We just need someone with a bit of cap room to take a decent back up for a year...and we can give them 3mil to pay most of his salary with a 2nd rounder to say thanks. Good deal..hen you cnsider the deals back up bigs are getting...and the 2 mil price tag a 2nd rounder cost in the past draft. 200K out of pocket? NICE.

We would love to move Quentin Ross and his 1.1 as well...but a small buyout and an offer for a veteran minimum later might get it done.
