Nets have plan in place to shed Hump?

It looks like we might have a deal or two in place to shed Hump but I think we are waiting on a commitment from Lebron and Bosh. Once they realize them teaming up with us is the best thing I think Thorn will pull the trigger on the deal and get the room for two full max contracts. I'm pretty sure that if we dump Hump for a future pick we will have the room for 2 full max guys or really close to it.

I think the only reaosn Thorn hasn't pulled the trigger yet is that it is going to cost us multiple picks, and if he pulls the trigger now and we strike out then we dumped Hump for nothing and lost multiple picks for no reason.

We are at 29.9 mil, dump Hump and his 3.2 mil, we then have 33.1 (not counting the new cap hold cause once one signs it goes away again)

max is at 16.7 x 2 = 33.4

so they would each have to take 100-200k less to both join (not completely out of the question thats peanuts).

Yeah this is basically what I have been saying. (Max is 16.83 though, not 16.7)

As for the last of the cash...

If the cap holds in at 56.1 when it is announced...

I am guessing they also discussed with Quentin Ross the idea of taking a 200K buyout before they traded Yi for him....with the promise of a veteran's minimum re-signing...he gets a few extra bucks for helping the team out with the slight difference they are offf two max. Havent read this anywhere...it just sounds logical to me.

I've been telling my friends this since the day Hump opted into his contract that we have something lined up for him. I reiterated that when we moved Yi as well. They really didn't believe me. I kept saying that there was no point for us to make the deal if we didn't get word from Lebron. It would be ignorant for us to make moves like Chicago did without KNOWING we were getting someone. I mean, why would we ship out Hump and future picks only to get screwed in the end. The Clippers have a TPE that matches up to Hump's contract. That is the team I think we're dealing with. If we weren't getting anyone big, I'd rather have hump bust his "hump" off our bench this year than sign some other random rookie.

Even if this all blows up in our face, we are in position to offer Lebron and Bosh exactly what they want...the chance to play together with a solid young core without mortgaging our future. We are in a great position and I'm proud of our management win or lose.
