Im so disapointed in the Nets I can puke

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Thu Jul 8, 2010 3:42 am

Is it striking out if you don't swing? They made 1 pitch to Lebron which everybody did.
Then they let every single big free agent go.
Then they let Boozer go
Now Lee is about to be signed and traded to G.S. for Randolph.
Derrick Favors looks like Kwame Brown in summer league games.

I thought it would be different. Throw Thorn out of the building cause he don't care and hire pritchard without an interview and give him blank checks.

We have 1 more play to be made if we want to make a spash and it should be in the works now but they are doing nothing.
Trade Lee-Kris-Future picks and cash for Al Jefferson. Sign Richard Jefferson. Sign Travis Outlaw and sign a backup pg.

If they did all of those things which they can afford they would of had a great offseason but they are sleeping threw the offseason.
I have never been more disapointed in the Nets then I am right now.

They also made a pitch to Wade and Bosh, offered a contract to Boozer, and are still talking to David Lee's agent. It's not the teams fault that a) Gay and Johnson were off the market sooner than anyone expected, and b) no one wants to play here.

Please do not do ANY of those things. Wow, that team would be completely nothing. Weak ceiling and weak present. I don't understand the logic of signing these spare parts (with the exception of Al Jeff who I don't really like at all) and pretending it makes them good. The only thing worse than striking out in FA would be to sign a bunch of borderline crappy players and be a late lotto team. No thanks.

well they do need depth no?

Trading for Al Jefferson Would be good and maybe trading a pick for Rip would also help but they want TWill at the 2.

Al Jefferson is just as good as Lee and Boozer so if they got him and got RJ back I would call that a successful offseason.

RJ and Al can teach the rookies and in 1-3 years take over for them in the starting 5. James just might be as good as Wesley and George.

Al Jefferson makes no sense. He's not that good, he has health concerns and a big contract, and he is a terrible fit next to Lopez.

So what do you suggest Favors and Humpries or are you thinking Haslem or Harrington because there nothing left.

I think I'll puke if Lebron goes to the Knix.
Maybe I'm just being bitter, but I don't know if I ever see him winning a title there unless they pull of a wamboozle of a trade with Eddy Curry's contract.
Out of all of the places he could sign, that is the one place, that even with Amar'e, has a weaker supporting cast then staying in Cleveland and I don't know that they can get that much better unless Gallo is available with Curry's contract and they can convince someone to give up a stud for that package.
Just adding one player for the MLE next offseason and adding some declining semi-scrub with Curry's contract and Wilson Chandler doesn't spell contender to me.
By the time they can add enough pieces to solidify that core, chances are Amar'e is going to be on a steep decline.

If Bron goes to NY i will do backflips. I hate BRon and I hate the Knicks and I would love to see them fail together whcih they would.

Go big or go home...

It is all about Lebron. Either we land Lebron or it doesn't matter.
David Lee would have been an OK piece going forward, but not a true game changer.
Boozer didn't want to come here and without Lebron he is older and injury prone.
Amar'e went to the highest bidder and I am not so unhappy unless that literally lead to Lebron going there and honestly if he does go to the Knix, I think it was vice versa.
Rudy Gay and JJ came off the market before they hit it and they're both vastly overrated and absurdly overpaid.
Who am I forgetting?

I really don't want anything to do with Al Jeff.

Harrington? Hell no!

Haslem I'll take for a full MLE sized deal as a fall back.

We'll see what happens tomorrow though.

I think they'd actually be a great fit especially on offense. I haven't seen as much of Brook as you guys but Al on the low block + Brook's improving outside stroke seems like a nice combo to me. :dontknow:

Also, 4 years 54M is a bargain next to Amare's 5yr100M, Boozers 5yr80M deal and whatever Lee gets. Hell, it's a screaming bargain. Plus Al is only 25 and has a much better chance than any of those three of actually playing out his contract at full health.

Much rather have D.Lee than Al Jeff. Lee with his midrange game...big time rebounding fits much more.

Yeah looks like NJ was the team to strike out this summer. Don't give up on Favors though.

Your organization is headed in the right direction. Signing or more importantly overpaying second and third tier free agents for the sake of not "striking out" is not a good idea. What did you want the FO to do? it was a longshot to land Lebron from the very beginning, Amare got overpaid as did Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay. I do not get the love for Boozer, the guy is 29 years old with an injury history, he is NOT the type of guy that would significantly help this roster. I think at this point adding David Lee would be good move, if he signs elsewhere then go after some role players to short term deals, which leaves you guys with cap space to absorb a big contract of a talented player a team is looking to move later on in the season.

I can't speak to how they will play together as far as Al being a major low post guy but I'm telling you. If you guys wind up getting Al Jefferson, you are getting a hell of a player. Yea he has a couple of big holes in his game but he brings it every night and there are less than a handful of guys who can guard him one on one. I also think he will be pissed off at being discarded from the team he basically took a pay cut to play for.

I think he is going to have a huge season next year and a big part of me is sad that it wont be with us. If Al comes back 100% he will be every bit as good as Lee or Boozer. My only concern for you guys is if his game fits with Brooks. I think it can, especially if Avery Johnson is teaching them how. A lot of people (including our own damn GM it seems) have soured on Al Jefferson after he came back early last season to play and had a bad (by his standards) year. Don't let them fool you. He is a baller.

I just puked hearing your god-awful plan to bring this team back into middle-of-the-pack mediocrity.

What ever we do it better not include Al or Richard Jefferson. That would make this offseaon that much worse. Rumor has it that we are looking at Tyrus Thomas, Korver, and Outlaw. I think we should take a shot on Korver and Thomas. Thomas is going to get somewhere around 8 mil and Korver should get 5-6 mil. Sign each of them to 3-4 year deals. That would still leave us with a ton of cap space (max plus another couple of mil) to make a splash at the deadline, should one come available or keep us in play for Melo should he want out. Stick with the youth movement, let the kids develop, and get another high pick. We need to keep the flexibilty for 2012 so we can make our splash when we will be loaded with young talent and Brooklyn is ready.

This lineup has shooting, flexibility, depth, and cap room to add the superstar they need to get to the next level.

yeh ditto on that...

I'm fine with everything and always believed with this yr's FA we would be considered lucky to land one significant FA....one, and that was never LBJ in my opinion, though there was and still is as of today, a small outside shot...but for me, it was never anything more than that...

Thank you Boozer...we saved ourselves here...

I still feel at the very least, we should pay Lee the money...I like to see this kid become a Net for life...and at the very least, he is a tradeable asset...(and I have no issues with fans saying we might be better off not doing anything, I can respect that...)

Say no to Tyrus...We have to fill out roster spots, Korver and Outlaw I can deal with...
