Best of the rest article and King should put a stamp on this
Even if it's signing Joel Anthony or Tolliver. Just to possibly fill out that last spot we need and so he did something and to show he is active. Maybe go for a very low rewisk young cheap awesome potential guy? We have money and we need it and it would be a good start to show were his head is at espially if it ends up being the best move all offseason.
Thoughts?

Oh and FYI Smith is listed as a young comprable Millsap who would be a steal. How do the Nets not see this?

Why? You expect to do this all next year? Smith 3 years 8 million. It;s less then Petro got and he would be by far the best of all the moves.

At this point, I'm all for Smith at a 3 year 8 million contract.

I don't see why the Nets need to sign anyone else... I'd rather give Outlaw minutes at the four than blow money on a Craig Smith.
Hell dude primarily played the 4 in Portland...

Blow money? We got under the cap to get Morrow and Farmar? Smith is a need and would be our best pickup and he's sooooo cheap anyway.

How did they list Scola under young guys?
Also, Kwame is still there. I'd take him over Smith. Smith + Perto at 3 each 18 mil total, i'd rather have Kwame for that price and it wouldn't even take that much.

Do a minute breakdown if you add 1 more rotation player to the roster someone is going to be underutilized and unhappy.
The young guys need their minutes there's no need to hinder their development for the sake of 1 or 2 more wins.

Not sure I like the fit for Sacramento, and call me a homer but I'd decline it for the Nets.
Now on the other hand Courtney Lee + Draft Pick for Jason Thompson would make me

Let me try to put this another way to you. Do you think this team gets radically improved with Craig Smith?
Now...lets say a superstar player like Chris Paul becomes available. And the Hornets along with prospects want the receiving team to take their worst contract off their hands without having to take back anything for him. They want some pieces back for Paul but overall...they want as little cash coming back as possible.
And say for the moment we can do that. We can take on Paul and Okafor while sending them the match for Paul. Would you kick yourself if you found out later that Craig Smith cost you that deal?
Just for argument sake without playing semantics and twisting this around...can you see why no one is gung ho to add a piece that wont matter in the world of moving us from 20 wins to 25 and why cap space might have a vastly better impact?????
The problem is...you are MAJORING IN MINORS. CDraig Smith? Or a Kwmane Brown, or any of these guys? Big picture...none of these guys matter all that much. Relax. It will all work itself out.

I think Twill is a good fit on any team

This.
Same applies to the summer. Don't want have to pull a Kirk Hinrich just to be able to speak to Carmelo.

Yes, thank you Devil. I didnt include next summer...but avbsolutely...same scenario, Cant just say...hey we are short a big for a our 20-30 win team and then say....we would like t be a 55-60 win team down the road and not get how in a cap structured league....each brick has to carry more than its own weight. Craig Smith or whoever...not going to matter worth a damn for this year. I am confident Dexmor that if you really look at the comon sense of it all...it will become clear. Just look closely at what you are pitching and what you are risking. You dont have the luxury of not caring about tomorrow. if that is what you want...then root for the Knicks Isiah style. Its exactly what he did....what The last 9 years of Dolan teams have done.

Re: Best of the rest article and King should put a stamp on this
Just stop with Craig Smith already, it's getting pathetic. I've never seen any team so intent on signing Craig Smith. Dude probably shouldn't even be in the league let alone start.
Just start Favors and let him roll. Take the good with the bad and watch him develop right before our eyes. At least we would have something to watch next year. We will be fine letting James/Hump back him up. James can play the 3 or 4 and has the toughness to handle most PF's in the league plus we won't lose much rebounding seeing is that he is a beast on the glass. Outlaw needs to stay at the 3 he is a bad defender and a weak rebounder something we saw happen last year with Yi that clearly doesn't work.
Front court rotation:
Favors/James/Hump
Lopez/Petro/Zoubek
No need to add garbage and thats all thats left out there.
Scola would be nice but we can't get him without breaking the bank and it's not worth it.

I coudn't agree more, although I came up with the idea like 2 days ago though.
