IF LaMarcus Aldridge were available to us....Who goes ? And why ?

I think after hearing Avery talk about everyone, the players most likely to be traded is one of our shooting guards..either TWill or Lee since Avery seens to really like Morrow alot. And also I dont think Avery likes Humphries even tho I think he should be our backup PF for Favors. But I can honestly see TWill getting moved because Avery mentioned Lee as a potential starter and not TWill..he also says TWill is a 1 and a 1, but not a 3 so it looks like Outlaw and James will see most of the time at SF..where does that leave TWill with Farmar as the backup PG??

A little off target, but you want a PF upgrade. Another blog "insider" suggested that the Blazers PG target is actually Devin Harris. This is in part because they will not trade Oden, Batum and piece for other lead PGs. In order to preserve your cap space, keep a Quality PG (with issues) and upgrade your PF, would you consider:

NJ Out - Devin Harris, Kris Humphries & Courtney Lee
NJ In - Gilbert Arenas and Andray Blatche (you take on about $ 6 million in salaraies)

WA Out - Gilbert Arenas and Andray Blatche
WA In - Joel Pryzbilla & Andre Miller (TO). WA does not need PG, but both are expiring

Ptl Out - Joel Pryzbilla and Andre Miller (Joel's suppose to be ready for Training Camp!)
Ptl In - Devin Harris & Kris Humphries

I think Gilbert Arenas is a better long term PG for New Jersey and may become a model citizen. Andray Blatche is a great upgrade until Favors develops.
WA makes out with expiring contracts of quality players (Lee appears to be a solid wing, but you are getting crowded).
Portland sacrifices valuable expiring contracts & a starting PG with high PER for Harris (our suggested target?) without losing major pieces. We facilitate NJs PF upgrade.

If salaries worked I would try to get more assets to New Jersey, but I think cap space is a key in your plans. Other pieces can be considered in separate trades. Is Gilber too much?

He's been discussed a lot. I would have been more interested if we had John Wall. With Favors, though he's a few years away, I'd rather have a short term PF and LMA is more of a long term solution. I'm ok taking a PF with a few years on his contract, but I would be very selective of who that guy is (small contract, vet willing to help Derrick, understands as years go on Favors will take over his starting role). LMA is not that.

I think LMA also makes us a fringe 7/8 seed too. He would kill all our cap though. I'd rather keep the cap free so we won't have have to gut the team if someone like CP3 becomes available, and be a lotto team again than get LMA.

This will never happen. The conversation about this officially ends as well.

Cant see Was dealing Blatche like that getting basically nothing. BAsically they are paying with a huge chip to dump Arenas and getting back nothing for the future.

Personally hate Arenas...but on paper good trade for NJ...that is of course if you believe in taking on that contract and that nut job...which as I said..I dont. Een if I were willing to give him that chance he doesnt deserve...so selfish...and all the missed time? No thanks. I think that's a contract to regret.

Sadly, I think the most likely to be traded right now is Terrence. If he goes I certainly hope it is as part of a blockbuster deal for a star or a very good player/prospect on a rookie deal.



As for Arenas... I will say this. I am a big Arenas fan and others question why and I do myself many a time, lol, but I am a fan. I don't worry about his weird, schizo like mind state though. What I worry about is his enormous guaranteed contract attached to his legitimate, well documented and serious injury history, namely focused on his knees(both IIRC).
I had mentioned him in other threads, but it was only with the intent of multiple trades completely transforming the roster and creating an admittedly ambitious "contender"

I wouldn't want him on his own unless there was another trade lined up bringing in a legitimate and young top 10 player while retaining Brook, making sure Gil was the 2nd, if not 3rd banana.

Also, not adding incentive to a Gil trade no matter how small(Lee) on top of Devin. Washington would have to add serious incentive themselves to move him, it's not going the other way round and as talented as Blatche is, his attitude just stinks, the Ricky Davis of PF's.



As for LMA, he's a guy I am a big fan of even with some of his obvious shortcomings. Thing is we have Favors and LMA on his own, as Prelude said brings us into 7th/8th seed territory on his own.
He is young and signed to a very reasonable contract though.

If we had the big fish trade lined up as the next domino to tip, with maybe a Chris Paul, Deron Williams, extended Melo, etc. to be acquired immediately afterwords then I would absolutely love to have Aldridge here. Maybe Devin and T Will for Aldridge and Patty Mills, but unless Portland is looking to blow it up and start over, I don't especially see their motivation to do that type of deal and if that was the case, I want in on Brandon Roy as well.

Williams has trade value and I hope Avery has no say in trades or talent because Williams is the odd man out when he should be used as a 3rd option as a starter.

I want no part of LMA´s teddy bear defense and 6 year old pigtails rebounding. Just let Favors develop into a superstar, have the best frontcourt in the NBA.

The player I see being traded is T.Will, he´s most likely the odd man out, but I want it to be in a large blockbuster trade.

I think Devin Harris and Kris Humphries for Gilbert Areans and Andray Blathe from the Washington Wizards. Also If Chris Paul is avalilable he would be traded for T-Will and Brook Lopez.

Say no to Brook in any trades...

TWill or Lee are clearly the obvious choices here.
