They say Knicks fans would never switch to being Nets fans and New Yorkers will always put the Knicks first. Well after Knicks trading Ewing I hated them and became a Nets fan also because I got the Nets channel round then and as a Kid I only had the Knicks channel. So when I was a little kid I was a Knicks fan and im a new yorker but im a Nets fan.
Any other New Yorkers Nets fans?

Well I used to live in New York. Like yourself I was a Knick fan even years after moving to Jersey.

I'm pretty sure there are a few new yorkers on the boards. I'm not, born and raised in New Jersey (and Las Vegas).

I'm a New Yorker. Born and raised. Never been a Knicks fan though. My family didn't get msg network when I was a child so I couldn't watch Knicks games. We had the network that carried the mets/nets instead I think it was fox sports new york, but I could be wrong. Anyway I would watch all their games, became a fan, and I would go to a few games throughout the year because they had some promotion with McDonalds where you get free mcdonalds, a camera, tickets, and some other stuff for a very reasonable price.

I actually watched the Nets when Aarmon Gillian was there best player but since I had msg the Knicks were thrown down my throat. I had msg. Like I said because of what they did I couldn't root for them.
Funny thing is I hate Marbury but when he first came out and when he went to the Nets that's when I was all in. I was actually upset about the trade until about 5 games in.

I live in Queens work in Brooklyn. I was a Knicks fan from 1993 to Last Season. I really just got fed up with the incompetence of the management and coaching of the organization. I never was a Nets fan but I really started to take notice of the Nets last year when they would beat up on the Knicks with they're young core of Lopez, CDR, and Twill. I basically liked the direction the organization was headed in compared to the Knicks...plus the fact that the new arena in Brooklyn will be so close to me. So I'm a new Nets fan and I'm glad to be in the fold and excited about the future.

Born and was raised both in NYC and the Dom. Rep. I got into basketball during the beginning of the Jason Kidd era. I just fell in love watching that team and I've been a Nets fan ever since.

Live in Queens, born and raised in the Bronx. I initially first got into basketball watching the Knicks and i was a fan of theirs only for about 3 years, then I saw that Van Horn got traded for Tim Thomas(I was watching KVH throughout his college career on tv, i was a big fan of his) to the Nets and I was a fan ever since. Van horn never developed into an all star like we all probably expected to but he turned into a good player still and I never stopped being a Nets fan ever since.

Of course, that only merits me a small mention in the award thread, kinda like receiving a "Thanks for participating" award, when you know for a fact you didn't really win anything but they will give you a trophy anyway so you won't cry home to mommy that you're a loser because you don't have anything to show for it...
