Potential of Lopez Favors frontcourt?

Hey I would like to say that I am a Raptors fan first and foremost, but I am really starting to like your team. I am going to be honest I thought that Lopez was going to be a bust, but he is now making me eat my words big time. I feel that he is going to be the second best center in the league if not first. I was a huge fan of the Favors pick, as I feel he is going to be a huge stud. I think his combination of speed, athleticism and size can only remind one of Dwight Howard. While he may take a couple years to develop, i don't doubt he is going to beast. So my question to you is; just how good do you feel this 1-2 punch can be? Here's to hoping for a great season and friendly rivalry between the Raptors and Nets!

I for one want to see Lopez and Favours play together for a long time. I'm not a fan of trading him for melo, CP3 maybe but this front court could be one in a generation and i would like to see them (plus others) develope.

Agree with Aussie.
Front court duos like this are rare.
When teams do have multiple big men of their caliber, they generally do well.
Detroit with the Wallaces
SA with Duncan and Robinson
LAL with Gasol, Bynum Odom
I feel like these guys could be unique though.. both in their primes and possibly complimenting each other perfectly:
Lopez - Post moves, outside shot, shot blocking, height, passing
Favors - athleticism, defense, rebounding, size and strength
I think the key for them working perfectly is two fold:
Favors allowing Lopez to work in the paint, meaning Favors has to develop a semi-reliable jumper or ability to face up away from the basket and take his man off the dribble
Favors staying agile enough to guard perimeter oriented, or quicker PFs

Plus I believe Favors is a slightly better shotblocker as well.
The future is bright.

I'm not too sure of favors. I like him I just don't have that much confidence that hes gonna pan out. But if he does they van be one of the best fromtcourt duos of all time

Think lower. Lopez is no Duncan.

True, BUT we're talking about potentially 10+ years of prime basketball with both of these guys. Robinson was still and All-Star, but not at his most dominant by the time Duncan was drafted.
