I am writing to you in response to this so called journalistic drivel that your hack author Chris Sheridan has spewed all over the internet with all the subtlety of a car jacking.
It's nothing more than an opinionated, lie filled, exaggerated, venomous attack on a franchise, fan base and even the entire NBA.
It reminds me of a biased rant a poster on a website such as RealGM would submit on the Knicks Team Board, or something that would be posted on a low traffic Knicks blog with the purpose of drawing attention to said blog to increase traffic and get a buzz.
I am baffled as to how you can allow such a "piece" to be posted on your worldwide famous site.
How did it get past editors?
Or has Sheridan free reign and no accountability?
This "article" was flat out offensive and disrespectful to the Nets fan base, who although admittedly smaller then many, makes up an enormous chunk of the NY area ESPN readers.
This cannot go without repercussion.
I feel Sheridan needs to be suspended or fired.

Let him feel the heat so to speak. Again, even if no major action is taken against him, which I doubt would be, it could at least limit his freedom in the future and make his job a little more joyless and tedious if he is forced to curve his severe bias and untamed homerism.

I am writing in regards to the Chris Sheridan article entitled “Dear Melo: A postcard from Purgatory,” which amounts to nothing more than an inflammatory, biased attack against an entire fan base and countless of ESPN readers/watchers. While ESPN is known for their Sportscenter telecasts and award winning shows, I feel that ESPN should also be the paramount entity in sports journalism, not an entity which spews the kind of lack of integrity articles that Chris Sheridan has written about in regards to the New Jersey Nets. As a fan, I am offended, and as a human being, I am appalled that such an article could escape the editing room like Sheridan’s has. While my readership may not be important in regard to ESPN numbers, I assure that I will not continue to show my support for ESPN if Chris Sheridan’s article is not redacted or modified to the show the integrity that an ESPN piece should have, and I am confident that I will not be the only person who takes such actions.

I'm writing in an attempt to express my complete disgust and outrage at a recent article by Mr. Sheridan. I was appalled by such a baseless and tactless peace. Its very disappointing that an irrational, hate filled attack on the Nets organization, the city of Newark and worst of all the fans, was allowed to be published on a respected and world famous site such as ESPN. It read like an amateur blog entry by an upset and unstable fan. "Melo, dont come to NJ because they will make you have training camp in Siberia"? Its not the criticism that bothers me, its that its completely inaccurate, random and done with a complete lack of integrity. I would strongly advise Mr. Sheridan write a retraction and apologize. At the very least, he should revise his article to include some actual research to back up his reasoning, something with a little more substance then "its cold there". Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint, I sincerely hope the article will be pulled off the site.
