What would make this season a success?
Since we're less than a month away from the season, what must happen for this season not to be failure?
My list is:
1.) Brook Lopez needs to take the next step to top center status (1a/1b with Howard)
2.) We win 25 games.
3.) Derrick Favors averages 5 RPG.
4.) Outlaw plays up to his contract.

Re: What would make this season a success?
Derrick Favors showing something that would warrant our high expeactions of him would be a success, I think. Winning 25 games would be great, too, because that is marketable improvement, without playing the Nets out of a high draft pick.
And, I'm going to say it now, I don't think Outlaw will ever live up to his contract, he is overpaid.

Re: What would make this season a success?
1. 40 wins, playoffs
2. Favors has an average rookie season, nothing insane (9/5/1 block would do)
3. Harris and Lopez bear no injuries (main players)
4. Murphy returns healthy and STAYS healthy, we need him
5. Prudential Center draws a decent attendance, hopefully some days it will be sold out

That would be a successful 2011 season. As soon as he steps onto the court next season, its automatically successful.

1. None of our key players suffer serious injuries
2. Favors has a solid season
That's about all I'm asking for.

Re: What would make this season a success?
Seriously you're putting Lopez making the leap to Howard level up to par with Favors averaging 5 rebounds a game and us winning 25 games?
For me it would be:
Harris playing more than 70 games.
Outlaw doesn't completely suck and that we can count on him to give us 15-17 on most nights.
Lopez making All Star game.
Favors makes an impact.

1) Lopez becomes a 20-8 guy
2) Favors had a decent rookie year - 8-6-1
3) Twill shows us that he is a rising star - Wins Slam Dunk Competition
4) 30 wins works for me
5) Use draft picks to move up the draft - No sure who but that suggest for the Irving kid looks interesting.

I'd like to see us win 35 games and be in the playoff hunt, then win the lottery.

Then, we can select our hometown hero PG with the 1st pick, mirroring the Bulls...

Re: What would make this season a success?
1. Josh Boone is re-signed and averages 15-10 (73.2% FT shooting)
2. Brook Lopez develops to the point where we can say he's as good as Mozgov
3. Nets get a real PG (I hear there's a good one playing in TPRC)

I thought Iverson was playing in Turkey? I guess I heard wrong. He's a real star.

-But really I'd like to see Lopez take another leap forward particularly on the glass and defensive end.
-Favors show a little of why he was chosen 3rd overall.
-Make playoffs or win lottery.
